Well, I'd like to thanks the trolls for popping over and judging us , we all needed a superior being to do that. Oh wait..shegirl never comes here, and has better things to do than comp..yet here she is trolling? Nothing to do today?
If you've been her a while on MSE you'll have seen Martin's large article on comping for cash? Personally I wasn't keen on it as it made too much of the possibilities to win ....but times have changed and many people have no money or job and families to look after this Xmas.
What business is it of anyone's if they choose to enter competitions to win presents, or even win prizes to swap for presents with other compers?
Some of us give lots of things away to people who we know are having a rough time or to charity, a lot of folk do that.
As for not being a customer? I look at companies I know when I go buying stuff, and in some cases I know the staff well enough to trust them...all because of the hobby of comping.

I suggest you get a life, no-one likes a troll.

    shegirl ... she's quite obviously a saint :D:p

She probably doesn't have time to enter competitions as she is so busy polishing her halo :rotfl:

I agree the people who comp a lot, they're a sort of publicity for the company. I have discovered new companies from the compers who enter a lot and seen some great products so they do lose out by putting that on their terms. It doesn't make sense anyway.

But you entered because you wanted a scooter !!!

How many people, do you think, entered that didn't need/ want one ?

yeah i agree some enter everything, i was like that at the beginning just so i had a chance to win. Now i am more selective i tend to win larger value prizes.

I was just pointing out there is a need to sell sometimes :)
would love to win an ipad!

That's a very nice thing to do. I want to point out my post wasn't about people who give things to friends and family. That's a nice thing to do. It's also no ones business about whether people enter for the sake of it or to then swap or sell constantly but it was a thought on what the companies who enter these terms may be thinking.

It seems like people take things a little too personally but it wasn't intended like that and was a light hearted comment rather than one with a serious face (if the post was aimed at me). Enjoy comping and doing whatever you do with the prize. :) And continue winning to gift as it is a lovely thing to do. :)

Care to explain how anyone NEEDS a scooter?
Very poor quality trolling there. :(

well, I enter for everything and anything and either keep it, give it away or quite often sell it and I don't feel bad. It has changed my life with great experiences and the lives of my friends, family and some charities I support. It is a great source of much needed extra cash, too, when I sell something but I don't judge anyone and nobody has a right to judge ME. It's my time I am investing after all, and my effort. :)

Exactly. And look how many are sold on ebay or various other places?

If it's something you really want fine, but entering so much for anything isn't right.

Everyone's circumstances are different, some people have to sell prizes to pay their energy bills, others can afford to be charitable with their winnings. It is wrong to judge.
The winner of our Pashley bicycle and basket full of Germaine goodies has been drawn and the lucky winner is...

    SAM OLYMBIOS from Colchester

However, there is some good news for all of you who didn't win! Sam has been unbelievably generous with her prize , and has said that "winning the Germaine goodies is more than enough for one person" and has asked us to take the Pashley bicycle back and raffle it off for charity!

I don't car what you think. Or anyone else. As long as it's legal and I enjoy it I'll continue. As will many people. We have no need to justify anything to anyone and espcially not to people who pop over with no knowledge to criticise and talk down to us.

FYI a company running a small competition on FB can hit thousands of likes and get similar shares for peanuts compared to paying FB , if you ran a FB page you'd know what they cost and it's robbery. Companies benefit hugely, which is why they do it. There again, why bother yourself with facts when you can simply talk rubbish and criticise eh?

  • They have explained what they mean. They said that it was those with multiple accounts who could enter more than once in order to cheat and win. Fair enough !
GOOD LUCK TO ALL FOR THE BEST YEAR YOU'VE EVER HAD....:lovethoug
