4.5 jobs a day should be enough. You do need to look at the weekend though, I really don't advise missing any days.

I have difficulty writing long applications (dysgraphia) so could do at most 1 of those a day - unless I was to type it up that is.

Quality wins over quantity any day of the week, though don't think JCP believe in that :(

Ok I will look at the weekend from now on, I just didn't knew Jobs was posted at weekends like I stated. :)

Just out of interest why wouldn't be posted at the weekend? Not all listings are instant and as I have said job even go live on Xmas Day. Took my laptop to my sisters last year and spent 2 hours job searching and doing my weekly email for the WP.

I tend to post jobs at 2am on any day, as it's generally the only time I get time to do it.

Jobs can theoretically be placed on Christmas day, however I've not yet done this, and probably never will.

While I think you should make every effort to find a job I don't think it should take over your life as it appears to have done with AP007. Now I'm not knocking AP007's efforts, we all do what we feel we need to do to get on in life but if you want your weekends free from jobsearching then don't search and enjoy your weekend.
Just don't let the job center know that. ;)
  • If he knows he has applied for 18 jobs he must be able to count to 20.

Just reading this and I have a question, I think I might start a new thread on it.

Do you have to look for a job at the weekends?

I thought you did, my agreement says I have to look at UJM 7 days (ie every day). I have been job searching 7 days a week since I started on job seekers. To be honest I would love a weekend off especially the ones I spend with my ds (the weekends he is at his fathers its not so bad). It is extremely difficult to concentrate on job search/applications whilst looking after a six year old.

(to give you an idea I have had to stop typing this post twice due to said six year old needed my attention!)

But you can't not let the job center know that, they know if you have been looking at weekends as the UJM activity history automatically dates your notes (you cannot amend the date) I haven't given them access but have to print out my activity pages for them to check.

You don't have to look for jobs on any specific day. The best days to find jobs I found were a Saturday but you can wait until Monday to look at them it shouldn't make much difference as long as you apply that day and don't wait too much longer. As long as it looks like you are doing enough on the weekdays then you only need to look on the 5 days. Maybe they said 7 days as you didn't have enough hours during the week to look for work on the other 5 days. Generally I look for work during the time I would be available for work.

You only need to log on to UJM and do a quick search if you don't have that much time available on Saturday....then spend a bit longer on Monday. It's Saturday now so just log on and search instead of posting on MSE.

Most of you know that I had a interview on 27.11.2013 for a warehouse but not heard anything yet if I have been successful or not but to be honest I doubt I got it as I had to do a maths test and I think I didn't pass as I am not good at maths as I just guessed them :(

I also have got appointment on Tuesday 3rd of December 2013 with my advisor at Jobcentre at 12.00pm, so far I have applied for 18 Jobs :)

    Hey,

I was rubbish at Maths and English. I did a free course in each and I am now in my second year at uni doing a science degree with my grades being mainly A's and B's. :j
I am willing to bet my school teachers wouldn't have thought I'd get where I am today judging on what I had when I left school.

Don't give up you'll get there in the end, just keep trying.

Can you tell the time? Use money? Read a bus timetable? Play darts? Know when your phone needs topping up? If the answer is yes, then there is nothing wrong with your basic numeracy skills.[/QUOTE]

My Dad always told me the above was common sense and my Gran used the rule of as long as you know what is in your purse, my bro was the bright spark but boy he couldn't understand a bus timetable!! there is a difference in basic maths (which I can do) to complex workings out to which teachers told my parents just before GCSE's "there was no hope and not to expect much", personally as long as you have mental attitude and common sense, you'll always be the winner

People not applying for jobs at a weekend are missing a trick ;)
