crimson.addict wrote:Thanks for my star Sue you are a lovely lady. I'm trying to really watch what I eat at the moment, not only because of the illness making things difficult but I have lost 11Kg and really don't want to put it back on. I have about 21Kg left to loose then I'll be extatic!! So I'm about 1/3 of the way there
I hope you are feeling better and that your knee is starting to heal up a bit xx
Oh Ruth, that's fantastic news, VERY well done to you for working at it so hard!!! :T Ok, so you've come that far and you CAN do the rest even if it takes a while. Are you doing it purely by diet or exercise as well? Preferably you need a combination which you're probably doing especially with your hairy friend. Try looking up Fitbit (pedometers which track all your steps AND if you have the dearer ones, track all your stairs), it truly does urge you on to keep right on challenging yourself and, as a result, you lose the weight, believe me!You can also add friends or make new ones which challenges you further still. An expensive lay out, but so well worth it. BTW, that's how my bad knee came about as it's arthritic, but you'll be ok as you're a lot younger than me.
Good to see you dropping on, Older But Not Wiser, it's always lovely to hear folk are still potting well.
You really do have your hands full, AlwaysHappy, time for locks on the windows perhaps?! It must be so very difficult, but we're all hear to listen and give {{{hugs}}}.
dinglefoot wrote:I've been doing a bit of potting here and there, but not much *waits to be told off* However, potting is a lot more difficult now as I changed jobs at the beginning of February. I never tend to carry cash anymore and therefore I never tend to have much change anymore. The good news is, as I don't work in a town centre anymore I'm not spending so much money and it's easier to save for the wedding next year!
I know I'm not going to reach anywhere near the target I set myself as a result, but I'd like to try and step things up a bit and see what I can pot
Hiya dinglefoot, as if you'd get told off???!As you're still going to Uni, if you're able to save by any other means than your pot (money going into bank BS etc) you're quite welcome to include it with your SPC money. Keep saving every bit possible and stay looking ahead to next year!!
Great potting, atolaas, you're really doing well.
I can imagine that those solar fairy lights look so beautiful, Meowhouse, whatever the weather I hope! It's absolutely tipping it down here, flaming June!
Well done with the savings, cattysmum!!!
I know you're not reading this, Lynsey, but have a really lovely time...and take this ruddy weather with you!
You mentioned the C word in June, little_sweetie?????? Disgraceful.More Ebaying moments then - good luck.
nell36 wrote:Hello All and sorry been MIA. Had a lovely week away last week but have been potting on a regular basis.
Brother has sorted out a 14 day free trial at a gym with swimming pool for me. Just interested in the swimming at the moment and was paying almost £5 each time I went so am going to make the most of the 14 free days.
Hope all are well.
Ah, it's good to see you back, Nell, great to know all's well, and excellent news about the 14 day free trial with the swimming part. Take it easy and work to your own pace as you've some building up to do. Enjoy it all.rosyq wrote:9 sleeps till I go to Iceland! Eek and whoopee in equal measure!
Good Heavens, Rosy, that came around so quickly!!! I'm getting quite excited for you as it's a lot to look ahead to, and it'll be wonderful, though hard!!
Great work, Saver88, and a wonderful lot to pot!!!!
Hi there, jakes-mum, and it's lovely to know you've had such a great time away together with such caring service. Hats off to a very observant waiter!!
£10 after shopping is in the pot...along with £4.13p found after clearing out the car as we've just changed cars! An expensive time, but necessary.Have a great Thursday, folks, keep saving hard.

Aww thanks Nellit's nothing though compared with what you and others have been through
Jakes-mum glad you all had such a good time and they looked after Jake so well
Sue I'm sorry, didn't realise it was arthritis that affected your knee
Have no personal experience of that, I'm lucky, but I do know my cousin cut out dairy for a while which eased hers, and she makes sure to keep the joint warm too. I expect you know all that though. Has the yoga/Pilates helped at all?

Ahh ty ladies, it really was a much needed break and the kids behaved so well, I was so proud of them both
We have realised just how much we need these breaks in the sun as both Dh and I were so much better health wise afterwards, so we have decided that DH's ISA will be the 'holiday saving pot' and we are ging to try and have 2 x 1 week holidays a year and 1 'mummy and daddy only' long weekend between our birthdays each year to try and stop me getting to the awful stage I was at before this holiday.
Some lovely shrapnel in my pot, I did count it but I can't remember what it was anymore :rotfl: plus a nice crisp £10 note as finally got my new Mr T bankcard after the machine ate my old one and I kept forgetting to sort it out, went to the hole in the wall to change the pin and found there was a £10er in there :j :j so took it out and popped it in the pot

Just back from a week in 'Manjorca' (as DD kept calling it) ...
Gosh Jakes-Mum!! Don't you just love it when a company wants to actually make your holiday enjoyable. It makes you want to go back again and again!!Oh Ruth, that's fantastic news, VERY well done to you for working at it so hard!!! :T Ok, so you've come that far and you CAN do the rest even if it takes a while. Are you doing it purely by diet or exercise as well? Preferably you need a combination which you're probably doing especially with your hairy friend. Sue - firstly, congratulations on the £4.13 found in the car. Even though you know it's yours it still feels like free money doesn't itI am trying to watch what i eat and go for a couple of mile walk a few times a week. My puppy gets tired faster than me but my boyfriend has a collie so he can more than keep up lol. Also, my boyfriend is more than a foot taller than me so i get a good workout just trying to walk along beside him haha. I started off losing a lot of weight each week but thankfully this has slowed down so i'm told it's more likely to stay off. My main goal is just to not put any back on! I am happier and more confident than i have been in a long time which i think is also helping
I have looked at Fitbit but i'm not really bothered about how many steps i take to be honest lol. I had an app on my phone that would track where i walked and show it on a map with how many miles. I loved that and it make me want to go for walks constantly until i realised it had eaten through all my data and i had a phone bill for £60
so i am looking for something similar to that really. I don't really count walking through the day as exercise, only if i purposefully go out for that reason.
Have you tried looking at videos on y0utube for workouts for your knee. I had a quick look and there seems to be a few, it might be worth a try. Also, working your butt muscles can apparently help lessen the load on your knees lol.
Anyway, this post is getting a little long. I 'found' £35 in my satnav case. I knew there was money there but not how much so i have taken that out and popped it into my holing potSealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4
