Great weekend in Prague, fantastic city & great weather.
We then had the emotional roller coaster of the vet finding a tumour in our dogs throat. She had to have a biopsy, luckily the results came back today & the tumour is benign, so she's being treated with steroids to try to reduce the growth.
I'm glad you had a nice time and that your dog is going to be ok. I think dogs are easier to love than people most of the time!!
I've been potting. Not much but still... I don't think i'll beat last years amount this yearSealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

I have been reading for a while but as we seemed to use cards for almost everything we never had any change. I counted my jar last night and in about 3 years it has... A whole £72.80 in it. We are now trying to work in cash so will have a bit of change to go in it now. Also have a sealed tin for the £1 a day (although I put £7 in on a Monday) which has about £77 in it (not actually sure). There wont be a lot going in at the moment but everything under 50p will go in.
Of course you can join us, charlieyates, and a very warm welcome to you. :grinheart Have fun saving, posting and enjoying the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 1of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We always empty our pots and declare our savings near the end of November, please make a note of this year's date: 27th Nov.

A gold star for you for, smiffy64, for a lovely welcome. :staradminmrsdalloway wrote:Thank you to everyone who keeps this thread going - it's brilliant for keeping newbies like me on track. To think....just a couple of weeks ago, I'd have spent that 30 quid on nothing much at all!!
Many thanks for your kind words, mrsdalloway, it's lovely to know we've encouraged you to do what you'll soon grow to love - saving!
Brilliant news on your table top earnings, Saver-upper!!! :j BTW, I reckon you should definitely pot that errant £20er before it travels again. I'm chuffed to bits you found it.
[Quote-diddley]I'm loving this, plus I had a sneaky count  But all taped up again and no more counting till the end. [/quote]
You did WHAT, diddley??!!!!!! Saver-upper is so right with her ”Ooohh, diddley, you are in sooooooo much trouble. Just wait til Sue gets home and finds out what you've been doing!" (that really made me chuckle, just don't tell diddley) Lynsey's also right with her remark about you being on the naughty step too...until tomorrow evening...with NO biscuits or choccy! I can't say how furious I am...it's not allowed. :rotfl: Don't do it again mind
Well pointed out to Saver-upper, little_sweetie. We could never eat our chooks, never!!! A gold star for you for pointing out the An!rex offer, a fantastic saving! :staradminSue-UU I would really love to have some chooks but our yard is minute, plus I can imagine our neighbours complaining
Fair enough, mommyof4, though we don't have a c**k bird, just the hens and our neighbours love them.
Good for you, siju.....
......you also, jakes-mum. GREAT work with the sales!! I see what you mean now about the saddish feel tother day, but your pot half full is better than half empty..though is there any difference! :-/
Oooooh now there's a good start, Deere!!
Oh VERY good, Observer, you're doing well - and I hope you had a lovely time.
I can just imagine flower beds and especially chicken on a balcony, Lynne...image your DH's face!!! :rotfl:
Very wise, skilly, time in the garden's always well spent and rejuvenates us. I thought of you yesterday when DH & I were erecting (can I say that on here?) a new shed.....and was grateful it wasn't a ruddy greenhouse fiasco like you had.
Good luck with the car, Lynsey, I hope it's not too costly.
Lovely to see you, Kong, and very well done.......
.....to you also, wishIcouldfindmyslippers!sparky0107 wrote:Great weekend in Prague, fantastic city & great weather.

Whoops! Sorry sparky, I forgot all about you jetting off to Prague, but I'm so pleased you had a lovely time. What a blessing and a relief about your little hairy friend, I am so delighted for you both.
Well done, Rosy with the scratchcard! :j
It must make it a very tense situation all the time, mossy, not great for the kiddies either surely. How did we get on before?!! I know some schools need it, but.....!
Hi braddy, I think you'll find it difficult to find a cheapish camp site, trouble is sites are taking advantage of what used to be a 'cheap holiday' as it's become far more popular again. Keep looking though, you never know.
Ooooh SpirallingDown, it sounds as though you've had a really tough time. Take care and - brilliant news about the £1000!!!!Enjoy your evening and Friday, folks, watch that FOG as it's a real pea-souper here!!Sue xAnyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're more than welcome.Sealed Pot Challenge 001 My Totals = 08 = £163.95 09 = £315.78 10 = £518.80 11 = £481.87 12 = £694.53 13 = £1200.20! 14 = £881 15 = £839.21 16 = £870.48 17 = £871.52 18 = £800.00 19 = £851.022021=£820.26[/SizeGrand Totals of all members (2008 uncounted) 2009 = £32.154.32! 2010 = £37.581.47! 2011 = £42.474.34! 2012 = £49.759.46! 2013 = £50.642.78! 2014 = £61.367.88!! 2015 = £52.852.06! 2016 = £52, 002.40!! 2017 = £50,456.23!! 2018 = £47, 815.88! 2019 = £38.538.37!!!! :j0 -
Ooops, sorrrry, I won't do it again Sue, promise.
Although tbh I'm glad I did as it made me realise how much money I've been wasting, buying stuff for the sake of it.
Now I think twice before I spend.
And my tin is getting soooo heavy I think the bottom will fall through soon. I'm hoping for a nice terramundi for mothers day :T
Happy potting everyone, I'm just off to sit on naughty step :eek:SPC7 #367

No pennies today, had a look at the bank on 11th and realised we have £100 to last till 18th to keep us at the same place as previous months financially (as in my buffer that I've got used to having and don't like to spend :rotfl:), DH spent £40 on garden stuff and I took out £50 in cash which has already dwindled to £13 after a shop, PO run and buying a few bits from my store  so will be living extremely frugally for the next 4 days as I refuse to take any more money out till the next pay goes inSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000

Hi sue I know what you mean, I think Yorkshire is classed as a high end holiday place with scarbrough, whitby and filey really nice places. Last year we went to wales and we only paid £190 for 3 adults and 2 children with caravan and awning etc, this year for only 2 adults and 2 children the only ones I have found are between £350 < cheapest and £450/£500 for haven sites ahhhh that's far too much, I don't want anything too fancy just a nice site with a bit of fun for the kids so we can have a lazy day in between all the madness. Back to the drawing board I go lol - a lonely £1 potted for me last night and 50p for OH milk money haha xxThe 1% Challenge #76 - Debt 1 = £620 - 1% = £6.20 - 4.3%
Debt 2 = £1600- 1% = £16 - 0%

Pay all your debt by Xmas 2016 #130- £465.86/£7636.46 - 6.1 %
