Thanks. I've lost too many friends to bc. But I've kept some too, and I'm so glad you're doing well.
I'm sure Macmillan will appreciate anything you can do when you're well enough. I held a cake sale at work on Friday and people were brilliant donating cakes and buying them, we raised over £100! I'm thinking of doing that regularly
rosy that is wonderful! Well done!Hi sparky drove to nearest town and purchased cash tin whichis locked away in my suitcase. Bagged up money which I am going to bank tomorrow in my new savings account. Im living out of a suitcase really so nowhere else to put it.
After going through posts and what I had put by in December and january I edtimate my loss to be approx £100; not that anyone gives a monkey's here. I know my money is safe and everyone here has observed me throwing away my money tins so in their mind I have nothing here for them to look for.
I think you have done the right thing, hun. Everyone saw you throw the tins away and know why you did so, now you can put it behind you and get back to saving albeit without a sealed pot. Do stay with us and just add the amounts banked to your siggy though, won't you? The support on here is amazing
Just 25p for me today. I've got a bad back again so no more shopping for a while (could be beneficial in one way  ) but very painfulSealed Pot Challenge #012

A mixture of cleaning out the various toddler and work related stuff that accumulates in my car and sorting out the pile of stuff down my side of the bed resulted in a find of £1.75
so that has gone in the pot. A NSD today tho so no other change to go in.

Don't worry about needing to play catch-up, evuka, time doesn't always allow us the chance to do so.blue_mango wrote:It's getting really hard not to open the tin now......it feels quite heavy, so curious how much money is in there...
Keep resisting, blue_mango, as you'll find it so much more exciting by waiting til November. Remember what SP & especially the C stand for!!
I'm glad that, as much as possible, you're letting it go, Hicks, no one's going to admit to such a thing anyway, let alone apologise, once they've done that they've confessed after all. Onward and upward and never trust any b**ger!! Ah, just read about you having bought a cash box, brilliant news!!!!
Anytime Nell, just be sure to let us know.lynnejk wrote:Still managing on 2 ciggies after dinner. I reckon I'm saving £3 a day as I used to roll my own but bought my baccy abroad. So not a fantastic amount but it will all add up at the end of the year
It's still a lot to save on a daily basis, Lynne, but the bigger thing is the savings to your health!! Well done and stay strong. Well done with the banking.
Stay focused, tatabubbly, and I'm sure you'll get there!
Ahh, bless her, skilly, and what a lovely age 3 is. Make the most of it, I did with mine and theirs and it's still flown by!!I do have such great memories though! Worth the world.
GettingOrganised wrote:OK, first decent pot for me today for a few weeks. It's DD's birthday today and went to build a bear (planned as birthday treat). Had a coupon so, this and some other loose change going in the pot - £4.81. This includes probably my first £2 coin going in!
A very Happy Birthday to your DD, GettingOrganised. Well done on the coupon AND your 1st £2!!!! :jLiving_proof wrote:Sometime ago I started putting all cash under 50p in my purse after shopping (just once a week normally) into a double-height Kilner jar about a foot tall. It's about a third full but no idea what's in it but I do wonder whether I will be able to safely lift it if I fill it to the top, and why should I? Would anyone hazard a guess what it would hold when full please? This is the first time I have saved change so I have no experience.
I've absolutely no idea what would be in your pot, Living proof, and would hate to hazzard a wrong guess in case you were disappointed when you do finally open it, but I do hope it's more than you anticipate. BTW, did you want to join us??
I'm so pleased you both enjoyed the concert, sparky, not fussy on him personally, but I know what it's like to have a fantastic time with someone who's voice does so much for you. 18 x £2s?!!!!!! Good Heavens, that's almost a fortune, let alone the rest!!!!
Uh oh, jakes-mum, just hope your washer's not spitting out the cash because it knows it giving up the ghost. No, of course it hasn't...could it?!
Well done with all you brought home, cattysmum, that was such a kind thought with your Grandson, bet he was chuffed. I hope you enjoyed yourselves.
That's fantastic news, Saver-upper, I'm really chuffed for you!! :j
Great to hear about the fund raising, Rosy!!! It goes such a long way.
You were so very wise, mrsdalloway, wonderful!!
Well done your DS, mumof3plusoh.Some marvellous saving, SPCers, have a good week!
