'must not ring my mum, must not ring my mum, must not ring my mum . . . ' I know im totally off topic but if I dont talk to someone i'm going to give in.
Am trying to divert my attention! Its that time again, dinner cooking time, just took my chicken out after 1hr and 37 minutes and it looks and smells lovely, has been poked to within an inch of its life but I STILL want to ring my mum and check ive cooked it long enough! argh! ive been cooking roasts since I was 10, I know how to work out the time from the packaging, I know how to check its cooked, but im still terrified it's not right and ive 'missed' the blood coming out or something.
Problem is I know that if I dont fight the desire to check with my mum, ill then ring her next week, and the week after and the week after that . . which is just replacing the rediculously over cooking crutch with my mum as the crutch instead.

Evening all.
jakes-mum - I'm no good at deciding when meats cooked, so can't help. I ask hubby to check otherwise the meat would be well over-cooked!!
I changed the £10 into 10 x £1 coins and potted.
I also potted 2 x £2 coins, 1 x 50p coin and 3 x 20p coins - total potted today £15.10 and a great start to the week and takes me over £300. :j
See what the rest of the week brings, but very little food needed this week.

Aww,Jakes Mum,I hope you are okay, and I am sure the chicken was fine.If you pierce it and the juices run clear, then it is safely cooked.Trust yourself-I know it can be hard for you,but with having been cooking since you were 10,you know what is right (in this case, cooked).Just ignore that little doubt in your head, and [STRIKE] invite us all over for tea[/STRIKE],er,I mean, enjoy a lovely roast chicken with your family.
Have been updating my budget for the month:I am normally very good at writing down my spends as I go,but for a couple of days, with big,not everyday spends, and OH giving me money to contribute,my budget got abit complicated and I couldn't face sitting down to sort it out:o.But all done now,so think I will put £8 in pot, might make it all gold coins :T
oooh,look at that-I've learnt how everyone does all those strikey-out things,hooray.SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Hi all, haven't posted for a while because I haven't potted for a while! Needed every penny I've got at the moment, so not able to confidently pot anything. Once, I've got over the next week, I should be OK - although the unexpected payouts this month have plunged me into the DFW way and I'm going to try to stick with it ongoing.
I keep looking out for roadkill, but no luck for a while, people seem to be too careful with their pennies around here!SPC # 348 2014-£169.07/2015 - £156.89

Well just to let you know, I left the chicken on the side covered with foil and when I cut into it to serve it up, it was like butter
very pleased I didnt ring my mum or ask DH to check it for the first time since I stopped overcooking, so hopefully next chicken day will be a bit easier as I know I can tell when its cooked
Haha, saver upper, you should have said! i'd have plated you up a dinnerit was chicken, yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, boiled potatoes, carrots, peas, parsnip, stuffing and gravy . . . oh and strawberries with icecream for dessert (as Waitr0se had huge packs for £3 :j) was plenty to go round as I always cook to much . . hm that may explain DH's weight  :rotfl:
No pennies today, im pretty sure I have change in my purse . . but . . its . . so . . far . . awayyyyyyyy :rotfl:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

Well done jakes-mum.
Did you not have a starter??
I'm stuffed just reading what you had. lol
Forgot to add earlier, but I found 6p road-kill today. I don't add the small coins, but it will go towards something.
Saver-upper - well done with your new [STRIKE]strikey-out things[/STRIKE] toy.
I couldn't fathom that out many moons ago, yet it's so simple when you know how. I still struggle with photos, but I get there when I take my time!!

Well not much time for posting for me of late, but have been keeping up with the thread when I can - we can certainly move it along!!
Wow we have some great potting going on.....:T:T:T
For me there's not been much spending and not as much potting as I'd like but I am putting in bits here & there.....
Hoping that the weather will improve for all since it has been terrible of late for a lot of people....
On a brighter note it has been great here for us today and we went and completed a snowdrop walk today really cold in parts but the sun was finally out :j and that can only make you feel better.
