araminta, aha, so you caught up with us in the end then! It's so good to hear you could quite possibly become debt free during the next year. If you wish to, any money you save with us could go towards it, or you could look forward to whatever else it is you may have plans for. Either way - best wishes!
You're doing well, mumof3plusoh, surprising what a few threats will do eh!Seriously, a £1 saved per day would be wonderful by next Christmas.
You're keeping consistent, purple angel, the best way to save. :ABTW - went spending the M&S vouchers yesterday. They have biscuits on offer for £3 - so basically £1.50. :money:
They will add to a couple of pressies .................................... "It's beginning to look a lot like Xmas" ......................... a cheap one too.
I potted £7.60, a mix of coins which included 2 x £2 coins.
Hope it's less windy where you are. Stay warm.
Lynsey
You've done well with potting, Lynsey. BTW, if one of those tins is for me then I'll warn the Postie so we don't get them in crumb form. No, not cheeky, just wondering. :whistle:Hi all
Handful of change in the pot, 50p of which my DD dropped in my bag as she said i overpaid her by that much for stuff she bought me at the shop.
Anyone got any tips how to keep my cat out of the Christmas tree? Tried to hang orange peel in the branches, to no avail!
Ah, tis you, mommyof4, that has the Christmas Tree up already for the kiddies! There you go, Lynne, tis her ^.
Try putting sprigs of HOLLY between the branches it favours, it'll soon learn that they can pack quite a punch.Enjoy your day, potters. To all our Scottish/Northern SPCers....please do take care! Keep indoors and WARM!!

Hi all,
So far this week I have been panic buying Christmas pressies. (I have a budget and am sticking to it so far). My hold pot still has a £20 note and coins in there so could be a good potting weekend!!
OH has started to notice that my purse doesn't create cash, he was looking for money the other day and had to; shock horror go to a bank . On the plus side I still have about £1 in change in there it's obviously not worth stealing. I think that this could be a new plan for me in my save the pennies up campaign.:rotfl:
Happy potting.

Oh that was brilliant, Modesty! I couldn't have put it better myself. How right you are with the highlighted part too. BTW, you're well overdue a gold star for that welcome and all the marvellous work you've been doing on the Reminder thread. Here you are and many thanks. :staradmin
Hi sparky and well done with your savings. I'm so thrilled you both had such a lovely time last night, you're well overdue a good night out.
It's good to hear you're on a budget, claireyfairy, and sticking so firmly to it as you won't regret it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you with that £20! Poor old OH needing to go to the bank, but at least it shows how determined you are to save. Excellent work!
Please keep safe and warm, everyone, particularly our SPCers in Scotland and northern England.Sue x

Afternoon, windier and even a spot of snow floating around!!
More newbies - welcome and good luck. A good time to join before the start of 2014, though any savings at any time helps.
You've done well with potting, Lynsey. BTW, if one of those tins is for me then I'll warn the Postie so we don't get them in crumb form. No, not cheeky, just wondering.
You're more than welcome Sue. If you were in walking distance, I'd walk around in this wind to drop you a box off.
A virtual box for now though:
(these are the £3 biscuits)
Potting?? Yes, I'm on a roll. I like to get in front, ahead of schedule and relax later - that's my strategy. £100 by December 31st would be nice.
Others finish like a train.
Another 2 x £2 coins potted from Morries s/scan tills and 2 x 20p's.
So, another £4.40 added.
