Still potting away, bribed DGDs to dust for me on Sunday,(haggled them down from £2.50 to £1.50) :)
Oldest found £1 coin and it was in her piggy bank before I could say that's mine! Teaching them well I think.
OH was at hospital last week, his kidney function has been causing concern for some time, but it's improved from 24% to 33% in four months. He's diabetic too and I've had him on a low carb diet for 6 months to get his BG under control, consultant said the improvement is because his BG is controlled better. Result!!!
He wasn't too happy about the low carb but now he's seeing results it was all his idea. Men eh?

    £2.80 potted yesterday

I'm still not smoking :j shocked and suprised with myself but feeling great :T
No idea of how much I'm saving though as hubby buys tabacoo and we share so will have to find out how much he spends on it and halve it for my amount saved.

Thanks sue for all your words of wisdom :A

First of all, well done. :) A friend has an app (from NHS I think) which tells you how long you've stopped smoking for and how much youve' saved.

On Friday I did my walk home again, this time I remembered to take a torch for the (completely) dark bits. Turned out this was an FBI style torch - just lit the small section at the end of the beam and no other thing at all (the type they use when going into a really creepy dark place when looking for a mad serial killer). What I needed, of course, was a Rhod Gilbert million candles type torch. But I made it home and didnt fall into any ditch or stumble into any pothole. :)

Not much in the way of potting over weekend, but hope to be resuming savings today
To those who are given much, much is expected

          1. Started the day by being a bit naughty. Had my eye on a suit in Oxfam for a little while now - well they'd only gone and reduced it to £20, so I had to have it. Got home, tried it on, put my hand in the inside pocket and found £2.80 wrapped up in clingfilm! Straight in the pot it goes.

I'm sure that's enough to justify buying another suit lol

          2. Just an idea, little_sweetie, but if you're talking tea times, then in
future how about an odd "party tea"; with T having the 5 it's not always easy
catering for 7 extra who like different things, but one of the kiddies said "I
love party teas" one day and it all goes down a treat from homemade potato
salad, sliced ham, egg/sardine sandwiches, sausage rolls or sausages on sticks,
crisps, pizza, cheese and pineapple, Tuc biscuits right through to
desserts/gateaux, it's all done and everyone catered for at much less than
separate meals. BTW, don't feel too guilty at what you gave the charity, as T
would say "if everyone gave that amount......." and it's true. Oh how that
little deaf blind Elliott on TV (Sense charity) pulls at my heart
strings....and wins! :D Well, why not, mine are healthy thank Heavens.

That sounds like a much better idea Sue, thank you, I'll give that a try next time. And, yes, that poor little Elliott makes me so thankful for healthy children/grandchildren too....

Just popped in to report 27p potted from today's food shop. OH couldn't (thankfully! :D) come with me today so I also have £7 left for a weekend top up & foodbank donation :T and we still have plenty to eat this week.

I've forgotten who said it (doh...I just read it a moment ago...) but happy birthday to your 5 year old and don't be sad at your children all growing up because you get another crack at cuddling babies with Grandchildren. I never thought they could be such a joy but they are. It's like having more of your own but with less responsibility to be an adult! I can sing (badly), craft (reasonably well), and play childish games with them and they think it's all wonderful. Treat yourself gently hun.

            I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!
