I do love my mummy. She gives me every penny she finds, which happens to be a lot more than i find!! I will have to treat her to something nice. Think i'll make her a coffee cake as it is her favourite. Does anyone have a good recipe??

Thats my DH's favourite cake! I only make it for special occasions (well I dont want him to [STRIKE]take it for granted[/STRIKE] get bored of it do I ;)) I always make a victoria sponge mix

    6 oz Caster Sugar
    6 oz Real Butter
    6 oz Self Raising Flour
    3 Eggs

and then I go to town with the coffee! 3 heaped teaspoons full with a little bit of hot water to make it runny, chuck 4tsps at least in the mixture, then I make a butter cream icing to go in the middle and over the top which I also chuck 2tsps of coffee mixture in.

He doesnt like walnuts so I dont put those in ;)

To this day, he hides them so he hasnt got to share them with Miss Lily :rotfl: I swear, once he hid in the downstairs loo just so he could eat a slice without her knowing  :rotfl:

I found early on I was withdrawing money just for the sake of getting change!
Yes, that's what I do. lol
Keeps the card payments down though!!
I need to withdraw some notes tomorrow to get more change to feed my pot after a few small spends. Bank balance will be down a little, but the boost at the end seems like it's worth it.

    3 x £1 coins potted today = £3.

Doing some more de-cluttering over the last few days, and found a grand sum of £1.58. In the pot it goes.

  • Mmmmmm Jakes-Mum, coffee cake is my favourite and that is the exact recipe I use! ;) Although I looooooove walnuts so cover the cake in them lol. Not made one for ages as doing SW and lost over 2 stone and just 4 and half lbs to go to my target. Will make a small celebratory one when I get to target. lol

Nothing to pot tonight as no change and I need to go to the Post Office tomorrow to get some cash out. Feel the need to pot a note as not potted much and I did dip into my £1 tin for some change so I need to replace that.

Welcome to the newbies and love and hugs to all the team here on SPC xxx

Morning all, feeling a bit happier in myself today - so onwards and upwards. A 50p has been potted this morning, so that's a start in the right direction. Am getting a stiff neck with looking at pavements all the time for roadkill but no luck so far- will keep at it.
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

  • Potted 40c yesterday, pretty happy with that as I had quite a LSD.

Hoping to pot some more change tonight after I come back from dinner, having a nice girlie night out and I am going to treat myself to a glass of wine I think! :)
