For all newcomers - a really huge heartfelt welcome! We're a terrific bunch who just adore greeting more members to the flock. Please read through the whole of this post to see what the SPC is all about.

The idea is to save as much as possible throughout the following year until just before Christmas - which this year will be to open our pots on Thursday the 27th November 2014.

Even better is that the day the pots are opened, 27th November, is my birthday so (hopefully) there will be some nice birthday money there

Only 68p to go in the pot today - change from midweek supermarket trip (bread/milk etc).

I did really well and only bought what I had on my list. But, when I checked the receipt later to add to my spending tracker, I discovered I'd been overcharged by 34p - totally gutted!

Kept my eye out for roadkill on the carpark, but no joy.

Good morning everyone
Not a lot of potting going on for me still unwell, so not really getting out & about much to get change... Only around 50p potted this week... But I was overjoyed to find my first roadkill of the year :j only 6p, but anyone would've thought it was a £20 note the way I was acting, lol, The fact that the coins were in a mucky puddle didn't even put me off... My OH's face was a picture of embarrassment :rotfl:

£5 potted from local selling page. Also my eBay total was £60 but Unfortuantly can't pot it as am going on holiday in march so need it to go towards that.
I'm going to give quitting smoking a good go cos I don't won't to smoke but I'm doing it out of boredom (I'm at home all day with two under 4's, smoke outside though) so if anyone has any tips throw them my way ;-)

I quit cold turkey without patches etc (and e-cigs weren't a thing when I quit!)

I had a LOT of chewing gum around and had that when I wanted a cig. Find something to do with your hands, some of my friends took up knitting/crochet.

Put the money you would spend on cigs into an account/clear jar so you can see what you were wasting and after you've been "clean" for a couple of months treat yourself. I quit in the September and bought myself a stunning coat from M&S AND paid for Christmas that year - I had been a 20 a day smoker

Was clearing out the loft and found the perfect thing for this - an electric counting jar Bit of duck tape round it and we're well away.


Found £5.85 in shrapnel up there to start me off too
