I've started gathering up all my spare change, found I had a glove box full in the car. Had heard the rattling for a while!
What do people use for their pots? Looking round the house now for something I could use.LBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩0 -
Happy Monday everyone!
I managed 17.2 miles walking in the last week (not as much as i'd hoped but the weather has been awful), so £1.72 potted!
I discovered that my local shop had given me an old 50p with my change  tried to give it in at another shop this morning but they wouldn't take it...but i just looked on ebay and the same design 50p (the D-Day landings) recently fetched £2.20, so it might be a blessing in disguise!
Angela84, i'm using a small cardboard box which kenco sent me a jar of coffee in. It ain't pretty but it does the joband gives off a satisfying "thunk" with every penny potted.

Bought 4 pints of milk for £1, used a £5 note and received 2 x £2 coins in change = potted.

Morning fellow potters, I'm off work this week which is just as well as this thread moves so fast its a full time job just trying to keep up with it, but aren't we all doing well? only 20p added for me today, but I am really trying not to spend anything as I am sooooo close to my grocery challenge budget and I really don't want to go over it, so am doing an inventory of the stocks today, and oh dear, I have so much stuff!! I should be pleased but I really need to use it first so am going to do a spreadsheet and use up those closest to expiry first. On the face of it there's enough to keep me going a while.....I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

Of course you can join us, Debtfreeandlovingit, Angela84 and AdmiralAsda. A very warm welcome to you.
Have fun saving, posting and enjoying the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 1 of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We always empty our pots and declare our savings near the end of November, please make a note of this year's date: 27th Nov.
Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away.
*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.
Angela84, with regard to what do people use for their pots, have a look on the 1st post of page one and you'll find suggestions there.
Thanks for a lovely welcome, little_sweetie, a gold star for that. :staradmin
One for you also, claireyfairy, for helping little_sweetie and Angela84 out. Thank you. :staradmin
A gold star for you too, Monkeyballs, :staradmin for all your valuable As!a help. I haven't looked at it yet, but definitely will do.Thank you and thanks so much for thinking around the DFW side of it with folk who may be a little too tempted at a time when they're barely keeping their heads above water. :kisses3: ....and there was I never thinking I'd be kissing monkeyballs!!
Good saving, Tom, a good bit of fortune too.
Good to see you, Peony, spring will come, but we don't want to hurry the year along too quickly.LeopardPrintsAndTea wrote:Would it be okay if I emptied my jar monthly?
Yes, that'll be ok then, LeopardPrintsAndTea, but please keep a running total on your signature, thanks.
It most certainly all helps, Goldiegirl, there are a lot of people on SPC finding it difficult as they use cards more than cash, just do the best you can.
Well done, 32b3, not bad at all.
It sounds as though you've enjoyed your day, Caz, Rosie too for sure.Soon enough you'll have 2 of them doing the same!
That's a good sum, ALM, which is a lot better off in your pot than with your friend.
Glad to hear your Mum's better now, Rosy.
A lucky find, maryarm, that'll 'up' the pot.
Fingers crossed for you with the 50p, thatclaregirl.
Counted your money last night, sh1305??? How did you manage that with a sealed pot?!Well saved, but just be sure you don't get tempted.;)
£17.52 in the pot, payment from DH's friend's dog treats they asked us to get and for petrol money for taking him, his DW and little dog to a specialised Vet a good way away.Have a good day, folks, save in every way possible and be darn proud of it.
PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. Please change numbers ASAP folks.
If you've already updated your No, please could you kindly make sure it's correct as I made a blunder to start with!
Very many thanks indeed.Sue x

Hello,
Managed to pot a further £3.52 today.
It is amazing how quickly small amounts of loose change add up.
I am looking forward to being able to surprise hubby with enough money that we can have a couple of days out during summer.
Just popping in quickly between housework jobs. Will be back later to catch up.
Take care all.
Peony x
