Hello everyone
.
A lovely 18p from me today :j. Had an okay day: did some shopping, went and picked up a Freecycle microwave for the DW, so she can zap her food at the shop, tormented the kids and the dog :rotfl::rotfl:.
Happy Potting everyone.

Hi Sue U , Sparky and the rest of the sealed potters!
can I rejoin please?
I have done this for a long time and love doing it. In fact it's second nature and I forget to check in on the thread! I potted £95.19 in 2013 so hope to beat that this year! Maybe harder as the funds will be a lot tighter at the start of the year as I am now on maternity leave!
best of luck for 2014.

Can I please start again? What do I need to do to re-join?
I think I did up till March last year then I lost my job, so any savings I did make had to be used up.
Have started by putting £2.26 in today.Hi Sue U , Sparky and the rest of the sealed potters!

I put another £5 in the pot last night before I went to bed, I just couldn't be bothered logging on to tell you
Hope everyone who is back to work today (like me!) doesn't find it too bad - I'm just hoping I get there ok as our buses are on a special service...:eek:0 -
Well I don't have any more change to put in the pot today as I didn't spend anything yesterday (yay!) but my boyfriend has said that he'll join in with the challenge. We'll both be using the extra large whiskey bottle to stash our loose change.
We didn't manage to save much last year, but I'm hopeful we'll do better this year.0 -
Just potted a marvellous (for me at least!) £2.02 from the shrapnel in my purse!
Very pleased with my start to the New Year. Welcome as well to all the new potters. I joined last month and it is very addicitive!0 -
Morning all.
Welcome to more and more new potters and those returning. Good luck to you all whatever your goals are.
This thread is getting very busy now and a real good feel to it.
Cash4AnnyQ - that £1+ per day should put you in good stead on pay day - 27th November 2014 - good luck.
I potted 2 x £1 coins. I'm trying to get ahead and will decide at the half-way point whether to go for that £1000. If I'm at £600 then, I'll probably go for it.

Wowee this thread moves fast posted yesterday and three pages to read.
I found a small box to start potting in and I have put some coinage in there. I am off out today so hoping for roadkill!
I am going to go to Aldi for the first time - too many people keep saying on the book of all faces how much money they are saving so I must see for myself.
I have also sold an old PAYG phone for £2 on the selling sites on facebook so really pleased - its a rubbish phone but its still £2 and it was worth nothing on the mobile selling sites.
Have a good day all3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

A very warm welcome, emmaphill, H.Ed, lustyrusty, BrandNewStart2014, purpledonkey and Delilahh. It's lovely to have you with us. :grinheart Enjoy yourself saving, posting and joining in the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 1st post of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We always empty our pots and declare our savings near the end of November, please make a note of this year's date: 27th Nov.
Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away.
*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.
A very warm welcome home, Urg123!! It's so good to see you again - to know you're having a baby too!!!! Please keep in touch with how you go.
A gold star to you, glassy :staradmin (pop it on your signature), for your help to a new member and to jakes-mum. Don't you get feeling bad about helping folk out, it's natural to reach out and you're not to know how long folk have been with us. It shows you had a good read through of the 1st post, well done!
A gold star to you also, hummingbird :staradmin, a good welcome, but just a tad more info if possible please, thanks a lot.So, after several years, I finally opened my pot this morning and I have.. £472I'm pretty happy with that! Now, just the small matter of getting round to taking it to the bank...
Have got an interim 'holding pot' which I have put £2 in so far until I finish repairing my terramundi  I'm aiming for £500 this year as I am now motivated to stick at it! Hoping for my first roadkilll soon...:rotfl:
MalhamCat, that is amazing savings, well done you!!!!! :T I'm not at all surprised you're aiming higher this time around. Did you want me to put a Target of £500 after your name/number? Up to you entirely.
Thanks a lot, LC 2, but we're ok, though there's a lot of local flooding all round, more trees down and road closures too. A very kind colleague of DGD's bought her home a different way last night, brilliant!Hi everyone.
Happy new year!!
I have been trying to keep up with the thread but failed today and skipped about 6 pages...so thought I'd post and pot something to make up for itJust opened my purse to see what I have. Only got 37p
so might as well pot the whole lot :T
However that just reminded me that I went to a cash machine today and put my pin in etc, told it how much I wanted then it say "temporarily unable to dispense" and threw my card back at me?! Better check my bank account - I hope it hasn't deducted it anyway??
Anyways, best wishes for 2014 to everyone.
xx
Hi Observer! You be sure to make certain all's well at your bank.Hi,
I would like to join your SPC for 2014 please.
I know what I want to do is not in the spirit of this challenge so if there is another more relevant thread, please let me know.
I want to document my savings but with the view of using the money to contribute to the 1% challenge, in other words withdrawing regularly to make additional payments to CC bills, instead of saving towards Xmas.
I will update regularly and keep a track of total saved during the year.
Thanks
H.Ed, that'll be ok to save that way with us here on SPC.Please, just keep a running total on your signature so you know where you are, thanks.
Sorry folks, not a lot of chat from me as we had a lovely family gathering and meal last afternoon and night, an absolutely wonderful time. I have to go out now, but will be back with you all later. Meanwhile, you're all doing marvellously, just - keeeeep saving!!! :j
PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. Please change numbers ASAP folks.
If you've already updated your No, please could you kindly make sure it's correct as I made a blunder to start with!
Very many thanks indeed.Sue x
