Pot is looking good - the pennies keep on rising, and those of you who say its addictive are right - this site should come with a health warning!! I'm totally hooked.

Its been almost a year now since I joined, and although I haven't always joined in with the banter, I feel part of this madcap family and it really does help keep you focused on saving. Lets hope that the new year brings happiness and savings to all.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all, and looking forward to the continued saving enthusiasm from like minded folk next year. Thanks for all your help and hard work Sue UU. Its much appreciated. :)

Hello, can I join again for this year?

Sue, I did declare on the other thread, so sorry for being so late with declaring and also for being so absent in 2013. Struggled alot in 2013 with dealing with my fibro coupled with helping to care for my mum and mum in law.

Not sure if I will be using my old number or not?

My sealed pot savings for this year will be: Gold coins towards long term savings, silver coins towards summer holiday and coppers towards xmas.

I have subscribed to this thread to help remind me to post.

Many thanks for running this thread.

    A very warm welcome
    , Cash4AnnyQ, Ryan_f and Dincanada.
It's lovely to have you with us. :grinheart Enjoy yourself saving, posting and joining in the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 1st post of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We always empty our pots and declare our savings near the end of November, please make a note of this year's date: 27th Nov.

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. ;)

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.

Cash4AnnyQ, all the very best with that new job and I hope the pay cut brings immense pleasure to make up for it.

Ryan_f, good to hear you joined MSE to be with us, save well!

    Dincanada, all best wishes saving.

I have emptied my wallet to a grand total of 31p today! :Dalso managed to get a couple £2 coins as well, but they're for the £2 challenge and not this one! ;)

The tin I'm using though..had Christmas fund on it though..obviously something I started half heartedly last year, but I found there's a £20 note inside! :D Great start to this challenge! So today, there is £20.31 added to the Sealed Pot Challenge!! :D

A wonderful start to SPC 7, Richy!! BTW, we have an arrangement with the £2 challenge - AND - the £2 coins CAN be included in SPC 7 as well. :j Not a bad BOGOF eh.

I apologise for my absence, I was unexpectedly very ill but starting to mend now. I have been potting odds and sods in my sealed tin - they all add up don't they?

Note for Sue - I have updated my signature with new number, thank you for doing such a stellar job in organising this and for a number that feeds my obsessive need for multiple numbers to add up to a multiple of 3 :p

    Jo

So, there you are at last, Jo. Good to see you back, no need to apologise at all, though I'm very sorry to hear you've been ill. You take things easy and get well properly. BTW, I'm pleased the No worked out in your favour. :D It's lovely to know you've still been saving regardless. ATB.

Thanks for helping our 3 most recent members out, Lynne, you'd best have a gold star for that. :staradmin

Don't forget, Helen, any "tempted to pot, but unsure about" cash can always be put into a "holding pot". Be careful of leaving yourself penniless for goodness sake. Do you mean your bank won't take more then 5 bags per year???! Or am I reading it wrong?

You're welcome, emmlouie, and well done with SPC 6!! :D

Back to work today, so £3 in the pot as I've packed my lunch.

Splendid news, RedVelvet!! :j Keep that up and you'll save very well through the year!

Thanks for the kind words and your No, EchoDelta, do take things easy and drink plenty of fluids.

I'm certainly hoping your thoughts about 2014 will be spot on for us all, Lynsey and that it is definitely a.....

I can see why things went pear-shaped last year, floella80, let's hope things are better this year for you. You're away now with your savings! :j
[Quote-Eyebright] 41p for me- 40p from my purse and 1p roadkill (my second since starting the challenge yay!!!) into the pot.

I'm really enjoying being part of this challenge, it is so much fun, and so many of you pot such fantastic amounts! Something to aspire to :D

Happy New Year to everyone, may 2014 be brilliant for us all! See you on the other side! :T[/quote]

That's so lovely to read, Eyebright, and wonderful to know that's how you feel. Keep saving hard though and YOU too will soon be one of those who people want to be like. A very Happy New Year to you also!

All the very best for a wonderful evening, sparky, and a sort of "ding, dong, the witch is gone" ceremony! A very Happy New Year to you and J, may it be safe and healthy for us all as in ALL SPCers!!!!!

Be happy with whatever you do, Sams. Well done with the cards, fishcakes too!

    Hello again,
greenanne, it's lovely to see you again! Try to forget this last year and make 2014 the one to count. I suppose your homemade pig could have done worse than ending up with a hole cut in his side!! :rotfl: You'll see I've given you No 240, an honorary No...a lucky one too!

Ok then, Modesty, we're all round to your house in a minute - tell hubby we'll clear it!!!!! :j Well done with that Market stall holder, actually, they mightn't be bad people to swap change with in November. ;) In small doses at a time to be safe for their counting.

Hi there, Peony!!! It's so good to see you and welcome you home again! Of course you can re-join, your new No is on the 1st post. I'm so pleased you've subscribed as it really does motivate us to stay in contact. All the very best with the fibro, I do appreciate it's painful and definitely not easy for you. You take it easy, especially looking after both Mum's and yourself!! I'll see you over on SPC 6 shortly.

Good to hear your intentions, bmma, you're away and saving now! :j

A lovely crisp £10er in the UU pot!!!!! :D

PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. :D Please change numbers ASAP folks.

If you've already updated your No, please could you kindly make sure it's correct as I made a blunder to start with!

    Very many thanks indeed.
    Sue x

Anyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're more than welcome, it's NEVER too late. There may be a lot of us, but don't be shy, we're a lovely lot, so come on in. :grinheart

    Hi,

    Weird question for you...

I just dropped by my brothers flat to say hi and have a cuppa when I spotted a bag of coppers on his mantlepiece...

Cheekily I asked what he'd collected them for and he said it was just rubbish change that he'd collected together while having a proper tidy up and was going to throw it away!!!

I asked if I could have it and he was more than happy to hand it over :)

I just had a count up and there's £2.84!!! Can this be counted towards my SPC because I have a vague memory of reading somewhere that money given can't be included or am I making this up?

In further news, I found a (rather grubby scratched up and only just recognisable) 20p coin on the road outside my house :)

    Thanks,

    £1.05 for me today.

Been to the recycling ground, few people there but not too bad so was quite a quick trip thank goodness.

DD is making 'happy new year pictures' for our little party tonight - just the two of us so not a huge party just a little music, some games and seeing if we can stay up til midnight, she has never done it before (just turned 5) so will see how long she holds out!

Hope everyone has a good evening, and goodluck to all for 2014 :T
