Hi!!!!
Sorry, I haven't been here for such a long time, I've been so busy!
I had a job interview just before Christmas and my OU assignment was due in the day before that. Then there was a pantomime and other festivities to attend as well as going to work. Then came Christmas and boxing day, then each day after that has been followed by work and family birthdays/family visits. I'm exhausted now! Off to work again tomorrow, and then it's my birthday the next day!
There hasn't been much to pot what with Christmas...and I have almost 20 birthdays in the family/friends over December and JanuaryHowever, I have managed to scrape £7.55 to pot
That included some very shiny 2013 coins too
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and hope not too many of you have got the terrible cold/flu things that are currently doing the rounds! If I'm not back here for a few days, Happy New Year as well! I hope 2014 holds only the best for everyone hereSPC '21 #0750 -
A very safe
happy and healthy New Year,
_party_ P o t t e r s!! _party_
Of course you can join us, RedVelvet, abbylou, bmma and Jubilee76. A very warm welcome to you. :grinheart Have fun saving, posting and enjoying the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 1 of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We always empty our pots and declare our savings near the end of November, please make a note of this year's date: 27th Nov.
Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away.
*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.emmlouie wrote:hi everyone:wave:
please can i rejoin this challenge, got a bit side tracked last year and didn't get anywhere near what i wanted to save but really need to get saving again. hoping to also get completely out of overdraft this year and this may help
A warm welcome home, emmlouie and trudij!!Please check your new Nos and change it over on your siggy, thanks. Why not refresh your memory by reading the 1st post on page 1 and don't forget the date we count up and declare = 27th November!
Many thanks, Meowhouse, another gold star for your help. :staradmin
What a good potting day for you, hummingbird! :jAlwaysHappy wrote: »I love the support and encouragement on here, really inspires me to do well, yet I know it isn't a competition, anything we manage to put aside is great and everyone has different sets of circumstances and challenges. I would be disappointed if a coin (even just a 1p) wasn't potted everyday, just to give me the chance to come on here and report my progress. Am loving it!!!!
That is such a lovely, heart-warming piece, AlwaysHappy, it's wonderful to know you feel that way and that you're now saving so much...and enjoying it!! Keep inspired and saving hard and you'll have far more possibilities to live out your dreams than ever before.Decided no longer to count the money I am potting unless it's paper money which I potted last Monday£20 took out Wednesday replaced Friday took back out today
Oh well if I never started SPC the money would have been spent last Monday and forgotten about
:j
That last bit says it all, Gayle, brilliant work - you are saving!!! :j However, to help you a little more, why not have a look on the 1st post on Page 1 and read up about a "holding pot" to ensure you don't keep raiding your sealed (remember that word) pot. Also, ask yourself a question when you're about to delve into it "Do I need it or want it" if it's the latter - leave the money there for a time or thing that you do! Stay strong.
You're very welcome, Gemma.nanto3girls wrote: »I must have gone to the wrong house sue.Sorry.
I'm glad you told me now, nanto3girls....after I've just got up from having a badly needed sleep due to overwork and terrible exhaustion.Don't you be feeling too bad though.
Shame on you, frugaldances!Still, that was in your former life so you are forgiven.
Oh, you're doing so well, Saver88! All the best with the sales.
Hi b_e_g! Good to see you again, I knew I could rely on you with the number wap. A very Happy New Year for you also, stay safe and healthy....and saving!
A good day, Delly!nowpanicking wrote:zumba was free yesterday so potting the saving £3.00
You've caught on quick, nowpanicking, great work. :j Keep at it.
Good to see you, EchoDelta, and to know you're true to your pot!
Ooooh, Eljhem, another potter benefiting from these free meetings! :jCariadsNewStart wrote:I have just taken £100 out of my pot for this weeks debt repayments but have also potted £10 odd for this weeks pottings so will update sig xx
I think you, CariadsNewStart, would also benefit from reading the 1st post of page 1 about the "holding pot". See what you think.32b3in2013 wrote:I am very jealous of the people taking down Christmas trees. Our one won't die. I has been there since the 6th Dec and still looks alive. Its 10 feet tall and I can't see the TV around it, but I can't take it down until it starts to wilt. I better turn the heating up to sauna temp, that might help it along a bit
D'you think maybe you need a hand choosing next year's tree, 32b3???? You should have put it outside in last night's gales....I might have caught the [STRIKE]!!!!!![/STRIKE] dear thing yer in Somerset. :rotfl: Well, at least you wouldn't have actually seen the going of it or the needles flying to all 4 corners of the earth.....and you'd have been able to watch the telly. *rolls eyes* (we ave a right on ere) A very Happy New Year to you too!
LC 2's always laughing in an evil way, nu1isit?, she doesn't need to throw her head back, she's made that way as she's always looking up - though I won't say where from. :silenced:
Glad to hear it, mooomin, instructions are on the 1st post.
That's fine, LeopardPrintsAndTea, see you then.
You're doing well, littleangels3.
You take good care, dinglefoot, and a very Happy New Year to you also.
PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. Please change numbers ASAP folks.
If you've already updated your No, please could you kindly make sure it's correct as I made a blunder to start with!
Very many thanks indeed.Sue x

Howdy all, would love to join! Saved £80 in pot by myself in a year but feel I could do much better than that, especially as I have a holiday to pay off before Feb 2014 before I start a job at my dream company which comes with a considerable paycut.

Hello all,
I apologise for my absence, I was unexpectedly very ill but starting to mend now. I have been potting odds and sods in my sealed tin - they all add up don't they?
Anyways I hope that you are all well and I am hoping to catch up properly over the next few days.
Note for Sue - I have updated my signature with new number, thank you for doing such a stellar job in organising this and for a number that feeds my obsessive need for multiple numbers to add up to a multiple of 3

Hi - great to see you are joining us and a warm welcome to you and all the other new people :hello:
I know Sue-UU, our great chief and organiser will be along in the morning to give you your numbers and officially welcome you aboard.
In the meantime if you read the first post you will know what this is all about. Good luck with your potting and feel free to ask any questions
Potted my £1 today and DH bought me a new suitcase in the sales, to replace the one trashed last time we flew, from his Chrissy bonus :T
Have a terrific Tuesday one and all

I'm adding another £1.22 to the Pot this morning.
Am tempted to Pot the £10 note that is in my Wallet....but if I do that I have NOTHING left in my Wallet until Saturday....so I'd better not....I'll see what's left of the Tenner on Saturday and Pot whatever is left.
I was thinking - My Bank says that they will only take up to 5 bags of Coins....so I have set up a Savings Pot in my Online Banking for the SPC....and I plan on Banking every Month...otherwise I'll end up with not being able to Bank it all at the end of next Year!! And that would NOT be good...But I'll put on my Sig what has been Banked....so Sparky can keep a track of it on his Spreadsheet0
