Got my pot today and popped the first 70p in (found in my dressing gown pocket). Planning a sweep around the house and through my pockets for stray change tomorrow.

A slight threat to my SPC efforts. DH has decided he wishes to use the money initially saved in the sealed tin. Admittedly the tin was his anyway but I thought I might just borrow it for the year  :D

Major crisis averted as I have a second sealed pot anyway. Will work on DH and persuade him he doesn't need his own tin at all. :rotfl:

Hello, could I please join in :)

I probably won't be posting much on here but this thread might keep me motivated not to open my pot until end of November. No target set but hoping to save up a few hundreds and get a Yamaha keyboard for it.

Good luck to everyone and thank you for this thread!

I thought you said you weren't going to the sales, jakes-mum! Yes, I can already hear your retort "they came to me!" :p

I really wasn't but I have 2 pairs of jeans, 1 zip up top and 7 t shirts to my name! I actually had to attend my best friends sons' christening before Christmas in jeans, t shirt and a jacket that was falling apart as I didn't own anything else :( I was so embarrassed I couldn't take my coat off (which is also falling apart) as I didn't want the other guests to see the state of my clothes :o

It's why DH wouldn't let anyone give me an excuse not to buy stuff as apart from the few tops I bought when he went away, I haven't had any new clothes in about 4 - 5 years and they were all mr t special in the sale :o
