Got round to the Crimbo hubby rummage so coinage with bells on (and tinsel) added today..! Also found £1.10 under the sofa cushion (surely fallen out of a certain hubby's pocket - but I'm not saying anything.. hee hee). Granny coin donation also added, so the pot is gobbling up the good stuff to start the New Year. :jSealed Pot Challenge - No: 223

Very well done, Pickle, let no coins hide! :j
You can quite see how easy that is though with your DH, Lynne, once Christmas Day's gone every day becomes a 'Sunday' until routine kicks in again. The time hubby & I have said it is amazing. How long til your holiday now?Saver-upper wrote: »I have been feeling very restless tonight, reading through lots of MSE threads, and returning to this thread a couple of times for updates, just felt I should be contributing more,so have added £5.94 to my pot (coinage change from Mr T tonight.)
Now I feel like I have been pulling my weight :rotfl:.
Looking forward to the end of the month when I add my monthly roadkill to my pot \/ \/ \/ \/
I'm hoping you had a good night's sleep after that, Saver-upper, if so.....
.....there you go folk answer to a restless night....feed your pot. :rotfl:
No good looking back now, claireyfairy, not now you've made your bed and are lying in it! :rotfl: Sorry, just couldn't resist. Still, so long as you're going to be frugal to make up for it it doesn't really matter, not in the grand scheme of things.I have often seen things I like and then thought they are too expensive and I cannot justify that amount of money and either gone without or worse bought something cheaper and ended up hating it wishing id saved and bought the original item I wanted
Me too, Meowhouse, once over an absolutely gorgeous ring in Ar!os, I fell for that in a HUGE way and it was aquamarine, my birthstone and a wonderful design. Even DH said "we could make ourselves afford it", but the 'make ourselves' bit worried me and the sensible part of me wouldn't give in....and yes, I've always regretted it many times over. Not meant to be perhaps.

What a lovely thread...Makes me smile to see all the savings
It is for certain, tatabubbly. ...makes me smile to see some of the spendings at times 'n all!
I thought you said you weren't going to the sales, jakes-mum!Yes, I can already hear your retort "they came to me!"
nowpanicking wrote:First amount in the pot today £2.80 :j
Brilliant saving, nowpanicking!!! :T You're off to an amazing start! :T
Well done you too, superrhinos! Keep up the cleaning - hunting down too.
Hubby having a Christmas rummage has a totally different ring to it, ToniLiz....New Year next!
You're doing really well, TattyG, and it makes a huge difference when we have hubby's on side too....even if sometimes they're unaware of it.Good luck with the FB sales.
Have a lovely day, everyone, and enjoy yourselves.PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers now. You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. Please change numbers ASAP folks.
If you've already updated your No, please could you kindly make sure it's correct as I made a blunder to start with!
Very many thanks indeed.Sue x
Anyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're more than welcome, it's NEVER too late. Afternoon all.Aha! You noticed then, Lynsey.
There will be a few things I miss though.tatabubbly wrote: »What a lovely thread...Makes me smile to see all the savings
Absolutely, helps motivation. No matter what you can afford to save, every little helps and if you can get your Xmas's for "free" (or more manageable), then all the better.
I love reading the sigs and totally admire how some are dealing with their debts. I don't understand all the little abbreviations, but get the drift.
Anyway, a 50p coin potted and sort of a donated road-kill. It all adds up. lol
Lovely day here now in the North East.

Will be heading off into Plymouth later to have a look around the shops and sales (if theres anything left!!) so any money I spend/change will be my first amount into the tin! I know I have a few coins (mostly £1s!) in my wallet...so will try and save those anyway!

Welcome to all other newbies and those that are also returning to the fold :hello:
I myself have managed to pot another whole £20 & 1p today as I was able to use nectar points for another small slow cooker that I had planned to use Xmas money on, also got some new work shirts too so potted the change and the £16.99 I saved from using the points, so very happy and on top of that I have had to eat another portion of Xmas pudding for lunch - all in the name of reducing our food waste you all understand!
Happy Sunday potting everyone xMeowhouse SPC #7 no 199 £560.58
