    Hi All,

Well yesterday did turn out to be a SFD after all. We popped into the church Christmas Fair but left after about 10 minutes. It was more like a very small jumble sale. Bit disappointed but pleased at the same time as I managed to rack up SFD no. 4. :j

Today will definitely be a spend day but not as big a spend as previously planned as decided to delay my next big shop until 23rd when I start my Xmas break. So just a small top up shop and the last of my pressies to buy.

My notepad is still lovely and clean as I haven't thought of my 2014 challenges yet but am trying to work on this.

I need to check all of my totals for this Dec and update later.

That money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"
  • Right they have gone out, phew peace :-)

    My 5 goals:-

    1. Spend within my means, pay off my credit card and have a safety net of at least 1k in the bank.

    2. Loose 1 stone and be more healthy/fitter.

    3. De-clutter and be tidier around the home. This includes lots of eBaying!

    4. Tackle those DIY jobs which need doing/finishing (separate list to be drawn up).

    5. Complete and pass my public law course.

I am currently lying in bed with a tub of Heroes! Not a good start to the loosing a stone goal! Ideally I would like to loose more but want a realistic target and if I do loose a stone it will be the lowest weight I have been in about 12 years which would be good enough.

Thought I would start a bucket list or perhaps a 'Things to do before I am 50' list. More on this soon.

This morning I am going to have a bit of a sort out with my avon stuff. Filing is very behind, I have lots of stock but not really sure what (maybe an inventory) and I need to check order dates (it all gets a bit weird over Xmas) and get some books ready to drop.

M's Dad and I have been discussing getting family membership to a zoo as a joint Xmas pressie. That way we will have somewhere to go all year for a day out while supporting a good cause too. I think we would get our money's worth. We each need to go three times to cover the costs which should be easy, especially as they are open all year round. Once bought its a cheap day out just fuel and a picnic :-) Not decided for sure but I like the idea.

Right off to be productive while I feel like it.

eeek just broke sfd! but was for a bargain for NEXT xmas!!!

my step mum likes a v expensive bath range and dad asked me to get a bottle for her from him (no where near him sells it). could only find on boots website but had £4 off usual price so was £10 but couldn't get free delivery. he decided to get another one as well that was also £10 to get free delivery. i then noticed they had 1000 free points if you bought 3. so i bought another one of the one he originally wanted to get the 1000 points.

as i buy in boots all the time £10 points is just like £10 cash so next time i buy something from there i will put £10 towards debts (as will use debt money to pay the £10 off cc). so got a £14 xmas pressie free :) if he decides he will just have one as originally wanted then i will pay for the other and give her both for xmas next year. i normally spend about £20 so she is getting more expensive pressies and it will only cost me £10 :)

Back from a lovely morning with DD. Spent the rest of my personal spends while there and didn't spend a penny over that!
Still as today is a spend day, I also picked up the bread sticks I need for DS's Playgroup Christmas party tomorrow, a few balloons to make my paper mache "sealed pot" a(doing this with the children)
Need to buy DD a new lunch box so will order that so I don't have to spend another day.

Having a very lazy day here... just psyching myself up to going to the gym!!! It's raining and cold and I really don't want to go... but... grrrr... <drags self up>

Ah, I've been having one of those days too but I just found out my yoga teacher is off tonight and it's a substitute - woo hoo, great excuse to stay lazy :D Almost rushed to the supermarket to get a few bits and bobs, but even that seemed a bit beyond me so I doubt I'll even get out of my PJs before it's bedtime again!!

Hurrah for days like this - I've been soooooo busy recently (too busy to post my musings here!) that I really needed it. I'll be back at full pace again tomorrow so today's a definite duvet day! Eh, enjoy the gym though Abundant ;)

So, my spending is still very much under control. I'm hating every penny that I have to part with! I spent money a few days ago getting essentials in the supermarket and yesterday was Christmas shopping but my budgets are still looking healthy (except the petrol budget - I've worked a lot more than usual this week so I've used more petrol than planned) but that's okay because I've earned more as a result.

I managed to de-clutter loads. Took two bags of clothes to H+M to recycle and received 2 £5 vouchers in return. You have to spend £30 to use the voucher so I won't use them, but if any of you plan any shopping trips over £30 there, just give me a shout and I'll happily pass them on.

My plans for this evening include vacuuming, wrapping gifts (and taking note of what I still have to get!), watching Strictly (even although I read the spoiler and know who's out) and keeping a keen eye on my eBay listings ending this evening. No need to get out of PJs at all :D

My budgets so far look like.....

Petrol: £60/£60 (with only a quarter tank left )
    Food: £40.84/£100
    Misc: £18.98/£100
SFD: Hard to tell because I've switched calendars due to my new laptop and I haven't got to grips with the new one yet! Still on track to reach the 15 SFD target though.

Yay for lazy days! I've spent all day in my PJs and had a SFD. Also decided to have the whole wknd off from working, which has been amazing :)

Quite cross with myself about going so far over budget but keep consoling myself that it's nearly payday, I've earnt extra from other sources and I know in previous Decembers I have spent loads more.

  • ooo Fmess you are starting the diet today?! I was just contemplating whether to weigh myself tomorrow in an effort not to pig out too much over xmas, or wait till Jan 1st, enjoy xmas and start with a vengeance in the new year... can't decide... any thoughts peeps? Not sure I can face a no spend / no pressies birthday and xmas and no comfort food treats either!

Spendy day today as we bought today what we were going to buy yesterday but ended up not leaving the house. Totally off budget due to vets etc but resisting the temptation not to just blow it all and sack all this month's debt repayment off and instead just minimise the damage. Must not get blonde highlights, new slippers, a down jacket, a xmas tree, new decs, a new outfit for xmas eve drinks, more pressies for the nephew/ niece, a pressie for DH. MUST NOT!! THINK OF THE DEBT MONSTER!!!!!

Going to go and lock my bank cards in a vault somewhere far away...
