    well the scan has just picked up a trojan.win32.Qhost.a in a .DAT file that was linked to AVG :think:

    could be the AVG virus vault

    you can go into the AVG control panel and empty the vault

    I un-installed AVG (so i could install F-Secure)last night browntoa although that was a pain in its self cos the uninstal program box kept getting shut down as well by the virus(es) :(

    do u think i could just find that file and delete it manually?

    Looks like im going to have to wait until kaspersky stop srunning cos my mums comuter has only got 256 MB of ram and its on a proper go slow while thats running :)

    well after a 2 hour scan it managed to get rid of trojan.win32.winload but ive jsut rebooted the computer and tried to load HJT and its still the same :(

    Think im just oging to bite the bullet over this guys and call it quits and get a start up disk and just start windows from the begining like it was bought from the shops cos ive wasted my entire weekend doing this :(
