Bucket list

The Northern Lights are beautiful. You wouldn't even need to travel too far to see them as you can often see them in Scotland.0

I agree with those who have said you should do these things whilst you are well & able to do them, money permitting of course!
I don't have a 'bucket list' as such but I do have places in the world which I yearn to visit. I've been lucky enough to go to a few places on this 'list' and all being well, I'll be able to go to the rest.
My parents are in their 70's now and although not ill, they don't feel able to travel outside the UK anymore but they started going on great holidays when they retired in their late 50's and they've had a blast. That's how I'd like to be, young enough to enjoy & appreciate where I go but old enough to have saved up enough money to do it with!0 -

I don't know why but there is something beautiful and alluring that draws me to them
This year is one of the best to see them according to the boffins! We are hoping to go in the new year, fingers crossed!0 -
Its funny but I am really struggling to think of anything. When I was 28, I nearly died following surgery to remove a tumour by my heart, and in all honesty it made me look at everything in a different way since! Am now 31. Not achieved much really that would warrant on the bucket list apart from falling apart slightly and completely rebuilding my life! That and getting all clear's every few months!I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D
Trying to find a work life balance...:rotfl:0 -
I've climbed to the top of the temple at Borobodur in Indonesia, seen Mount Fuji, Lake Ashi and Kyoto in Japan, had a ride on an elephant in Sri Lanka (very uncomfortable I have to admit!), climbed up as far as we were allowed to go in the Statue of Liberty, seen Lincoln's memorial in Washington - and visited most of the wonderful places here in UK. I'm 70 now, and my future plans include a rail journey from here in the UK, over to Europe, up through Russia and down through into China - finishing up in Beijing! I'm planning to do that (hopefully) in 2016 - when I'll be 73 :-D :-D :-D0

I don't think you have to be ill to have a bucket list. All the things on my list involve travel & you have to be in reasonable health to do that.
I have booked one of the things for next year, a helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon. Although my health is pretty good (touch wood), my DH almost died 5 years ago & so there doesn't seem to be any point in putting these things off as it wouldn't be as much fun going on my own.0 -

I genuinely don't know why people are so fixated on the idea that it's a list of things you do when you are dying! Possibly because the media like to print stories about terminally ill young people who have a bucket list. I expect a lot of people have bucket list-type items in their head and just don't call them that.
thorsoak- that's amazing. I love hearing about older people who are still having adventures.0
