Thanks Kaz for the reminder! They appear to have something I want to get DD for Xmas coming up on offer at midday :D Updating my accounts to see if I can afford to buy it ;)

I think we spoke about this the other day when you told me how old DD is; I ordered some clothes for DD from Mr T yesterday and it's so hard knowing what she'll like as she's certainly transitioning to a 'tween' (awful word but described in between doesn't it!) I've been finding it really hard with her and we end up arguing/shouting so I've taken the first step and booked in to see the school parent advisor to get some help as I feel out of my depth and don't feel like she's my daughter - she's mutated into some strange being who I love desperately but don't feel I know :(:(.

I had the same with DD. But we've learnt its better for us if we go off to separate rooms or read or something to give us our own space for a bit. Buying stuff for DD isn't too bad, she has very similar taste to me, but trying to get the right size is the worst part. She can be anything from an 8-14 depending on the store & cut. She's not into fashion, and despises Pr1mark, so we often end up owning the same basics :o We take it in turns now to have first choice on jeans/t-shirts ;) Last Christmas I saw a t-shirt that I liked and wanted to wear, DD couldn't find a thing she liked except the same t-shirt!

Well I've cleared leaves outside, filled another binbag with them! Now my wheelie bin is soaking in hot bleach water which I'll go and empty out in a minute. It was stinking. :o I'm working my way through festive films today that DD doesn't want to watch. I have no choice if I want to watch them as we're not able to record programmes tonight due to the lack of space on the dvr :o Just finished a hot coffee to defrost my fingers. Now accounts and then I'll go sort the wheelie bin out.
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

Thanks for the lists last week Dusty and Natty for this week. I'm back in as the house is desperate for an overhaul clean after not touching it while I was doing crabblies.

I need to work my way through each room doing a quick sort and tidy and then do the stairs which have black tide marks of cat and dog hair on them. The fridge is defrosting, I need to tackle all of the urgent paperwork on my desk and then I can actually start on the list. I'm exhausted just by the thought of it all.

Note to Self: Read Natty's List before posting. It's perfect for me today Natty, thank you so much.
    Better is good enough.

By contrast my vile DD3 is 13 in 3 weeks and actually seems to be improving.. she has hormonal outbursts but on the whole is a lot better.

  • Hello!

Well, after introducing myself last week I did say that I would try and jump in with the challenge however, it might just be teeny tiny steps for me today as the work I hoped I would complete over the weekend appears to be never ending and I shall probably spend most of the day chained to my laptop, or feeding a baby.

I will try to do what I can though!

Monday ~ Lovely Lliving Room, Happy Hall and Safe Stairs
    15 minutes...

    Declutter all these areas
    Vacuum these areas
    30 minutes to spare...
    Wipe/vacuum sofas
Clean windows in these areas, check curtains/nets/blinds while you are there, do they need a clean?
Dust any areas below eye level
    Got an hour...
Dust anything above eye level (if safe to do so)
Clear anything that shouldn't be where it is, should the magazines really be on the floor?
Wash any soft furnishings in need
    Binbag dance
    Tidy coats/shoes bags etc
Extra Mission Tasks~ if you want to do more
    • Clean windows in these areas, check curtains/nets/blinds while you are there, do they need a clean?
    • Check you have your Christmas card list done, if it's not done at least spend 10 minutes on it
    • Spend 15 minutes sorting paperwork, dealing with anything urgent NOW
    • Spend half an hour doing something for yourself
    • 27 Fling Boogie, you know the routine, grab a bag and clear that clutter!
    • Clean out the vacuum cleaner, empty the bag/bucket, clean filters if they are washable MAKE SURE YOU DON'T PUT THEM BACK UNTIL THEY ARE DRY!
And a very important personal reminder to myself: Don't forget to pick DS1 up from nursery at 4pm!!!

I LOVE those feather dusters!! They are made as part of ostrich farming (for meat) so I don't see why they wouldn't be unavailable.. I want one to hug and one to dust with lol.

L@kel@nd sell a whole range of them, including telescopic - quite pricey but good quality.
I still use a family heirloom which we call Aunt Kate's Head because of its soft white bristles - having seen a photo of my father's Aunt Kate, I know exactly how the cobweb brush got its name!

Thanks for the list, Natty, and to Dusty for last week's. I am in again this week as much as decorating and other commitments will allow. The decorator is finishing today, so we are still working round him and the wet paint. Tomorrow we have a family funeral. On Wednesday we have to go to the GP and report on SW progress, then visit the Swedish store to order furniture for next-day delivery :D Thursday is carpet day for 2 bedrooms and the lounge :j - please can I have good weather vibes for that day, as we've got lots of deliveries lined up :o Friday will be building furniture and emptying boxes :)

At the weekend we emulsioned the lounge and I undercoated the skirting and door frame (the decorator has done both sides of the door). I must do the gloss this afternoon, once we have got rid of some more dust

:rudolf: Personal challenge update: today I emptied the first 4 packing cases of the 20 I hope to achieve by Saturday. Only another 16 to go, and I think it will be just do-able...

Welcome to all newbies, GWS vibes to poorlies, (((hugs))), spoons and sticks to anyone who needs them.

Now I must text the carpet fitter! [Whizzes off to try and find phone]

    Morning all

Been to have a cuppa with my friend with BC as she is feeling down, made her laugh by trying her wig on.

Just have brunch with DS1 and then I need to go to town to do some returns but I can't find one receipt - blaming DH they were in the bag I'm sure so need to go and search the bedroom floor before I go.

Washing to go on the line too.

I am a bit tired today, DD was up most of the night being sick and DS1 decided to join in at about 2am, I have done 3 loads of bedding and towels already.
OH has a meeting in work to discuss injurys and return to work. So I am on my own with two poorly kids and a ds2 that is trying really hard to walk but keeps head butting the floor!

My hips are agony today after standing in the kitchen for several hours yesterday.. nothing getting done here then!!!

Hope the hips ease off soon, Pigpen. The dusters look beautiful in a vase too!!! The only prob was the price - I got these years ago and had to pay import duty when I collected them from the PO!!! - so if they are available and you treat yourself you may wish to bear that in mind!! Sure they will last forever though and save me lots of problems so well worth it.

Thanks for the new thread Natty.

Not working today (my lady is poorly). The house is in dire need of love and attention.

DD1 and her BF are moving bedrooms with DD2 and DS3. Its a very complicated move. Bunk beds and s wardrobe to be dismantled and reassembled from the little ones room and a double bed and double wardrobe to be dismanted and reassembled from DD1's room. I am keeping out the way.

DS1 starts working nights until 20th Dec. Please pray he sticks at it.
