Feedback on nationwide internet banking

I haven't done internal Nationwide transfers for a while now but it seems a bit odd that they would always want you to use the card reader, particularly when they must know that the accounts belong to you. I certainly don't have to use it every time for the transfers that I make to other banks.0

I only really use it to bounce my £1,000 around between FlexDirect accounts but its frustrating every month having to use the card reader to do the same transfer each time.
.
Does it make you use the security device for every transfer, even if it's been set up previously? Is that the same regardless of how you log if (using security device or otherwise?)
Smile has the card reader but only makes me use it for setting up a new payee, really don't want to have to use it every time I pay a bill or transfer money

I transfer cash to my Santander account and back but only had to use my card reader when I transferred the first large amounts (2x£10k). Is it for amounts over a certain amount because I transferred £750 last week and it was not required? I do have it set up as a regular payment.
No problems for me with the IB.0 -
Can't really fault Nationwide's online banking experience because it is very good compared to any other bank's website. So I'll try to instead!
The 'mouse over drop downs' are a bit faffy at first - but you soon get the hang of them.
So the main gripe is the absence of a proper real-time bank statement. Instead you get two screens:
a 'mini statement' of the last 12 transactions only
a 'full statement' that includes transactions up until the previous date
So not only do these screens look different to each other and the mini lacks full item descriptions, but if you have had more than 12 transactions (say 14) then you can't do a proper reconciliation on balances - because some transactions won't appear! This can only happen if your account is particularly busy on any day but it does crop up occasionally.
Nationwide has a nice 'filter' for viewing transaction screens, but it could be improved (like all these ad hoc genies could be) by adding more categories or rethinking the categories which are in use currently.
They also have a faster payments section covering the last 24 hours. Nice! but it uses a rolling 24 hour day instead of (say) displaying payments made 'today' plus all payments made since 00.01 'yesterday' and only updating the entries to this section at a fixed time each 24 hours.
Anyway a deserved 8 out of 10 overall......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -

In my experience, you- always need the card reader when setting up a new payee
- only very, very occasionally need it afterwards to make a payment to an existing payee. This is totally random

So does this mean there is no way to see all transactions since the last statement? Or do you mean there is a full list of all transaction it just doesn't have a running total column?0 -
Also, the mobile app allows you to send payments to existing payees.
I found this easier than logging in to the website.Archi_Bald wrote: »In my experience, you- always need the card reader when setting up a new payee
