Aaargh ....here we go again. 8 mins until she needs to depart the building and she has wet hair ( again ) no trousers, shoes or socks on, teeth not cleaned, breakfast not eaten and lord knows what else. I have just had a quiet word but she assures me with a huge smile that actually she is doing quite well !! Who am I to say otherwise then ? :rotfl:
Oh.....now I can hear her entering into some social chit chat with her sister as to how well she slept !!

Glad she made it but :rotfl: at the not having time to even do her shoes up.
The predator that agreed the F&F at 22% was the original not a DCA, although the account was defaulted just over 3 years ago. Its worth a try when you have the money. I'm still waiting for news from the others, nothing in the mail today, but still keeping positive that the others will go the same way.

Thats really helpful Granny. Ours defaulted at a similar time to yours but as I mentioned above I understood if negotiating an F&F with a DCA you were more likely to get a better deal ! You have proved me wrong and given me food for thought !!!I am wondering who your 22% Predator is, I may send you a PM .
I will keeping everything crossed for more good news for you.

No need I will tell you here, it was M&5, both credit and budget accounts. They are part of the H5BC group who I also have debt with so I have high hopes for that too.
Hope DD got out on time. My DD was exactly the same XTargets

Hi Granny:j
Could I ask - did you suggest 22% and see if they agreed or did they suggest that to you as the lowest they could accept?
I have one myself which defaulted something like three years ago and I will be doing some F&F activities shortly.
Thanks and have a lovely day

I did follow your previous thread and I'm back following this one now. I didn't think it was fair to just lurk and thought I should let you know how human, heartening and uplifting your messages are.....(or just how funny you are :rotfl:) So resilient working through the odd challenges which life has to throw at us.........
Thanks for doing this and I hope you all have a great day.
That's a real cool piccie of the PG by the way!

Hi Brogden, I offered them 22% on both accounts. They accepted this for the CC debt but wanted slightly more for the Budget account. The girl I spoke to, (I sent a letter, she rang to discuss), was lovely. She said they have a calculator they put the offer into and it comes back with the suggested figure. She was surprised that the higher debt was accepted at the lower rate but the other wanted more. She also said it would change each month and that I could hold off for a bit longer and try again but I decided I wanted rid right now. In the end I paid off around £7,000 with just under £1,500.
I used the template letter from debt free direct and included a personal statement. This included my total household income & expenditure, a list of my debts and the amount I was offering each, which was done on a pro rata'd basis. The only extra I would add if I was to do it again is to say where the money was coming from as that is something she asked. It's always best if the money is coming from someone else, eg family member gift, as if they think it's your savings/credit from elsewhere they are more inclined to decline.
I hope this helps, it not let me know and I will try to answer your queries

Morning Mrs PG,
Laughing at your getting ready for school dramas.....it's only day 3 of school this week and we are already running 20 mins behind schedule -envy you that they go to school independently - I just end up shouting hurry hurry hurry (or words to that effect) as I am personal chauffeur
Still struggling with abbreviations sometimes - what's a F&F?
sorry feeling silly asking but sounds like an important step in the process............
