I am hoping it wont drain the resources too much, she is only on loan after all , its taken 6 years for us to agree to this !! I have told her that if work dries up the pony will have to go but I have already spoken to the lady at the yard incase this were too happen and she has said that DD2 would be able to keep her on return for doing lots of work at the yard, so if this were to happen hopefully we have an action plan. She has also been warned that if her school work starts to slip the pony will be gone !! I feel bad, but so far she has been very organised and it has been a great incentive to get her in from school, get the homework done and dusted , bags packed for the next day and then we trundle off to the yard. I anticipate the majority of the summer holidays will be spent there . She seems happiest when she is around the ponies and even I am growing to like them !! :p xx

I suppose I should really do a quick money update as that's primarily the reason I am here !!

The Debt is down to under £40K . I never thought I would see the day !! The majority of that is the dreaded bank loan, but for some strange reason as I am not now owing money to in the region of 8 predators it feels a little more manageable.

We still have some arrears but we are getting those sorted and by the end of August they will be done and dusted and we can carry on battling this thing.

The Tax Bill of course is still hanging over us. I don't think we will manage to get that cleared before the next one is due in November but never say never. It does worry me but for now I am trying to put it to the back of my mind and concentrate on the here and now.

I did try and make a claim re the endowment but was told we didn't have a case, I also tried a miselling claim as well, just for the hell of it but that wasnt upheld either. I tried to see if we had anymore PPI on some old accounts and sent off letters etc, but that didnt come to anything. I did make a complaint to the bank re some problems with direct debits and received £50 for my grumble and we currently have an ongoing complaint with an airline Mr PG has recently flown with which we are 99% certain we will win and should provide us with approx £500 in compensation. This will be thrown at the debt, although putting it towards a few days away in August when he gets back would be preferable. :p

One of the Predators wants to do a review, but that shouldnt be a problem, I will just advise them that things havent changed and infact with DD1 starting college in September we do have the college bus fare to find. I have already been saving towards this and have t e first terms fees put to one side. I also have £50 left in the Prom Account I set up for DD1, so I will keep that going for the next three years to save for DD2s Prom !

Other than the above, we have had to have four new tyres put on one of the cars, tax was due on both of them and yesterday I discovered a puncture in one of the brand new tyres. Off to get that sorted today, thankfully the garage we use have told me they can repair rather than needing a replacement so it shouldnt be too costly.

So that's it, our Money News. We are getting there, very very slowly, but at least the numbers are reducing, so thats gotta be a good thing !

    Love to everyone xx

  • Great to see you are under the £40k, keep going you are doing fantastic.
  • Hi MrsPG,

I've been away from the forum for a wee while, but was so glad to see you posting again and absolutely blowing us all away with your debt busting. Well done on getting the debt under £40,000, that's phenonmenal, and just think - looking at your progress so far, in a couple of short years you could be free of this horrific burden and hopefully begin to enjoy life again.

I was so sorry to read about your Dad and also your other family difficulties since then you allude to - I really hope you do take some time for you now and again and you definitely seem to be the lynchpin holding absolutely everyone and everything together!

Lots of love, hope you've had a lovely weekend
