I think I will follow Happy's idea and go for a lie down in your honour.

Hope DD1 and her toenail make it to prom :)

Hope DD2 feels well enough to go riding

    :rotfl: bucket incident

Reminds me of a time I tried to leave my house only to find a deceased cat blocking my way. I called OH and he picked up the poor thing with a black bag and put it out the back to bury it in the evening. During the day DD discovered the owner's identity and told him of the sad demise. Imagine my dismay when I discovered OH had used the black bag from the kitchen bin and so there were bits of rubbish embedded in the by now stiff animal. I was mortified, neighbour was fine though, just glad to know what had happened to his dearly beloved pet.

DD1 dropped off to Chemistry Revision with her foot wrapped in a bandage !! The daft child was running up the stairs this morning and managed to trip and rip her toenail off !Its pretty disgusting and made her feel very sick. She wouldn't let me near it with a plaster so we wrapped her foot in a ginormous bandage as she was worried someone would tread on her, found a very groovy looking shoe for her to put on and sent her on her merry way !! She has a party tonight though and is worried what she will wear on her foot as her toe is bruised and throbbing !! :rotfl: I shouldn't laugh but it was hilarious when she done it although it must have really hurt her as she was shaking like a leaf. She also has concerns that her toenail will be missing for Prom and we brought her Prom Shoes a couple of weeks ago which are open toed !! :p

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the chances of it coming back before Prom are quite slim:mad:

My best friend had an ingrown toe nail on her big toe and they removed her toe nail and it has never grown back. On her wedding day she had a false toe nail put on it and it looked lovely.
At other times she just paints her nails and you don't really notice it unless you stare at her feet:rotfl:

I have lost a toe nail before (after doing a 20mile walk:eek:) and it managed to grow back but took a couple of months.

Keeping my fingers crossed for DD1 and her prom
  • Goodness, what a time you are having. Even DD1 being well has had an injury. Thats your three invalids!

Hope your mum is better - DD2 sounds really poorly. Is she getting over it now?

The best thing you are doing ahead of the finances changing is being aware of it and legislating for it. Good luck with the tyres, have you seen Asda aredoing them now? google it, might make it a little cheaper. depending on the type you need x

Thankyou all for your entertaining Toe Stories !! :rotfl:

Must admit though EE's tale of a false toe nail did make me feel a bit odd ! I am pleased to say that DD1 finally let me take a look at the toe on Sunday and its not actually as bad as we initially thought , although is still sore. I dotn think we will be needing a false toe nail thankfully ! :D
She had her Prom Dress fitting on Sunday and had to squeeze her foot into the shoes which was pretty painful. The dress looked gorgeous though :D

DD2 is on the mend, although not quire herself still but back at school this week and as usual getting stuck into everything. Despite the remnants of the chest infection she has played in a rounders tournament , is at Athletics Training tonight and then has an Athletics Meet tomorrow. She has had to sit out a few times as she gets out of breath but she wont hear of not playing while she fully recovers. She knows best ! ;)

The spends in the PG household continue en masse sadly. The tyres of which I was hoping to purchase two of , became four at a cost of just under £700 ! We thankfully had the money....just , but it had been earmarked for some arrears, but it went to the car instead. I cant remember if I actually told the story of the front tyre blow out a couple of weeks ago when DD1 and I were driving her to singing or not ? Or the tale that we actually had no breakdown cover, and being were stranded on the hard Shoulder for an hour or so while I tried to think of a plan to get us rescued !!

DD2 needed new spikes for the Athletics last Thursday as I hadnt realised that she has been borrowing smelly school ones. Not so bad I suppose as its better than nothing except when she told me she has been running in shoes two sizes to big for her  She is now the proud owner of shiny new spikes, and we will eat bread and dripping for the next week until we get paid ! :p

In monetary news, we are nearly under the £40K mark !! Just another £100 ish pounds to go and we are there !! Whoopee !!!

We have an ant invasion, came down yesterday morning to them all over hall and kitchen floor. Yuk !! I couldn't find the ant stuff, so we googled natural remedies which included lemon juice and chalk. We squeezed the lemons where we thought they were coming in and drew chalk mark around the area as apparently they dont like to cross the Chalk Lines !!! It looked like a Crime Scene for Ants with Yellow Chalk marks all over the floor !!! :rotfl: But it appears to have worked !

We have had no more disgusting animals left in our garden ut I am thinking that The PG Household has become a party house for cats, as having just dropped DD1 in school I came home to find four random cats sunning themselves int he back garden ! I dont even like Cats let alone other peoples !! :rotfl:

DD1 has three more days of exams to go and then its all done and dusted !! Cant Wait !! :T:T

Off to ignore work and help her cram for this afternoons exam !!

Have a lovely sunny Wednesday everyone xx

I swear by Borax for killing ants...and it is useful as laundry cleaner too.

As they share the same digestive system (as it were) they take it back to the nest and it kills em all...

Pleased to hear you're all coping :)

It was the way they all looked at me, as if I had no right to be inn my own garden !! Our own cat was terrified and hiding on the top of the barbecue away from them !

Wednesday was crazy, too much juggling, am hoping Thursday will be better !

Hope you are well Skint xx
