  • I'm afraid I am nursing a rather stinking hangover today ! I honestly don't think I drank much at all but somehow I still feel like rubbish ! Maybe it's my age !

Mr PG and I were invited to dinner with clients last night . I must admit I didn't much fancy it as logistically it was a pain . The meal was 2 hours away on a good journey but the girls were performing again last night in the show and also Dd1 has come down with a nasty cold so was stressing out about being unable to sing her solo
. I was stuck in a catch twenty two didn't feel we could say no to clients as there were lots of schmoozing opportunities but felt bad leaving the girls . Anyway it all worked out well , we got the girls sorted , DD1s voice held out apparently and Mr PG and I schmoozed the night away . Infact we schmoozed until 5am and didn't spend a dime. We crashed in a hotel paid for by the clients which was very kind of them ! So all was good with the exception of this hangover !!!!

Mr PG has promised to make me his Signature Chilli tonight as it's my favourite hangover dinner . I could get used to having him around !!! Xxx

  • Yesterday was a strange old day. Other than nursing the hangover from hell, we attempted to work all be it quietly and slowly !!

My Second Favourite Man (after Mr PG that is !!) the Postie delivered some lovely news, that put a huuuuge smile on my face. DD2 has been entered by the school for a national poetry writing competition. Her Poem which was written all about her family has been chosen to be in a book published next year ! :T:TShe has a certificate and now will be entered into various other stages of the competition in an effort to win prizes for herself and her school. Once more I was feeling very very smug.:D:D

We then rallied ourselves and set off last night for the closing performance of the show. IT was msot definately the best ngiht yet. It was jsut so lovely to see all of these kids havign so much fun. There is some amazing talent out there. DD1 killed her solo despite her awful cold, and was nursing honey and lemon backstage before she went on !! She got the biggest cheer of the night :D:D DD2 was fab as well being asked to step in at the last minute for a variety of parts. I thinking she ended up playing about six different characters with a myriad of costume changes ! Thankfully DD2 has a photographic memory and the school by all accounts were pretty shocked as she knew the speaking parts for nearly everyone's role !! The children are all so sad that its all over now for another year and DD1 wont be at the school next year, but DD2 said she will most definitely be auditioning again ! Cant wait !

So another fun night was had by all !

The only downside of yesterday came in the shape of a call from the bank with regard to my £9K bank charges claim. The result of the call was that we have their utmost sympathy for our situation ( course they do !!) but they will not be paying out a penny due to the 2009 rulings. We didn't bother arguing too much, just told them to put it in writing and I will go straight back to them with another letter. Clearly they couldn't be bothered to read my 100 odd pages of evidence !! Looks like we are in for a fight with this one, but to be honest I didn't expect anything less and certainly didn't expect them to roll over immediately and refund us just like that.

Hope you are all having a lovely Saturday, its a busy one here in the PG Household xxx
