  • Early on in my last diary, sleep was pretty elusive . I also had some crazy dreams, mostly about money or lack of it, or people coming knocking at my door demanding it.

Gradually over the last two years they decreased and I began to sleep better.

Since about July this year though , once more, sleep as become a luxury. My head is constantly whizzing, not always about money, but the girls, what needs to be done, what needs to be crammed into the hours available and how I am going to please and support all the people around me that need me. Gradually though, money has crept back into my thoughts and now my dreams.I think it stems to the fact that we had so much unexpected expenditure this year, that we have fallen behind with a few payments and the worry has begun again. With Christmas looming unless we can get shot of the car, it will be a struggle as all of our Emergency Pots have been bled dry, with the exception of the odd £10 or £20 here and there. .

Tonight's dream which woke me in a total blind panic was:

" Mr PG called me on the phone explaining very calmly that the girls and I needed to get out of the house and fast. He didn't explain why, just that we had to leave and we wouldn't be coming back....ever. I had to gather every bit of money I could get my hands on before they do , were his words and I was to meet him in an hour. He didnt explain where, I suppose in a dream sometimes those details arent necessary. The poor girls were thrown a bag each and told to fill the bag with as many clothes and personal items as they possibly could ,on the understanding they would never ever come back to the house again. They were good girls, they didnt ask questions just calmly set to the task in hand. I emptied the "sealed ish pot" into a carrier bag, withdrew the ebay cash I have been saving from my its hiding place and then went online and drained my multitude of oddly named accounts( Emergency, Rainy day x 2, Prom, UE, College Fund etc etc !) , transferred the money into the main bank account, called Mr PG and sent him to the bank to withdraw as much as he could lay his hands on. He told me he was emptying the business account also and that I needed to hurry. At this point, we had 10 mins to leave he said. I have never been so scared in my life, I had no idea why we were leaving , why we would never see our home again. The girls came running down the stairs, DD2 carrying the huge teddybear that my dad had brought for her when she was born and DD1 with her cameras slung around her neck. I took one last look at the house , slammed the doors behind me, jumped in the car and without a second glance sped off to meet Mr PG (where, god only knows !) As we pulled out of the road, four black 4x4's shot past in the opposite direction. I can only assume for the purpose of this dream they were heading for our house ":o

I know doubt sound like a complete crazy lady now and to be honest I probably should be used to these strange dreams by now, but I woke with such a start. The house was obviously in silence (well except for the dulcit sounds of Mr PGs snores, they have returned with a vengeance recently as well, but that's another story for another day !) It took me a while to realise that none of the above was real and wasn't really happening but I have been unable to settle down. This was at a bout 2.30am and I have been trying to get back to sleep ever since. I think I will give up now though as there seems little point in sleeping as the alarms will begin to go off shortly.

I do wonder if the dream were analysed what they would have to say about that one ! I have also realised that in my panic I didnt actually pack any bags for Mr PG & I in my dream. What we were going to do for clean undies is anyones guess ! :rotfl:

  • Wow that sounds pretty scary. I hate it when people are after me in dreams, I feel like i'm going to have heart failure my heart is going that fast. You are under such an enormous amount of pressure it's no wonder you have these dreams. It's something to do with how our subconscious and our conscious minds make sense of all the information thrown at us whilst we are awake. I suspect your mind is just going "woah, too much!" Have you tried some calming music on your ipod (or whatever you have to hand) if you can't sleep. My new one is singing bowls, I go on youtube and put one of these tunes on and i'm asleep within 15 mins tops. Perhaps try it next time and see if it helps?

Hope you're not too tired today xx
