Know what you mean about getting all enthusiastic about decluttering and keeping to budgets...I had the girls clearing out stuff for the CS and to sell (fear there will be much more going to the former than onto Bay of E..I think I have already sold all the good stuff! :o) - there was some bad grace but they did it eventually.

Well done on the sale. Good to have a Rainy Day fund...I blitzed mine for the tax bill... :( but at least it was there to use I guess, thats one (amongst many!) good thing to come from this site I think.

Gym sounds good..I can just never justify the fee as I don't go regularly enough. I am going to get OH to teach me some exercises for my core though, one of my many NY resolutions..he does them regularly and reckons it has made a big difference. Cheaper than the gym and more chance of me doing them if I don't have to leave the house! I may also do some more HIIT sessions from tinternet.. there were some good Sw3aty B3tty ones that a friend put me onto last year... did them for oh about a fortnight and then fell into a stupor. I do also know what you mean about weight gain not being an issue before, but now it is...I am in that camp also lovely lady and I am not sure I like it. Never been on a diet and would prefer to keep it that way so Dry Jan should help a good deal as reckon thats where most of the additional mass has come from

Have a good eve grouting ;)

    x

We have been splitting things between CS and the Bay of E . Listed a couple of odd bits this evening but I wont be holding my breath for loads of interest. Glad the girls have had a clear out for you, I'm still waiting ! ;)

I think I am the opposite to you, I never ever manage to do any indoor exercise at all, so the only hope I have is to head to some classes. Working from home most of the time I have found is a bit isolating as well, so if I can grab a quick hours class, see another human a couple of times a week, that has got to be good for me ! We will see though, not convinced it will be happening this month there already seems to be so much to do. I might take a look at those classes you mentioned though, I am the proud owner of some Sw3aty B3tty socks Mr PG bought me in the sale last year, so at least I will look the part, even if I cant do any of the exercises !!:rotfl:

Yep, I am definitely blaming the alcohol and grabbing food on the run when mum wasn't well that has attributed to the weight gain. Could possibly be a bit of an age thing as well I am thinking :(

Grouting is done, off to take DD1 to work now, then I think I might grab the chance to chill a little, before I need to collect DD2 from a party and then later on DD1 from work, its been a busy but productive old day today.

    Have a lovely evening xx

  • Had another productive day today, listed a few more bits on Bay of E, and already had a few bids :)

Last of Xmas Decs are down and packed up, just waiting to get as far as the loft, but I think I will save that for tomorrow and DD2 can give me a hand. House looks lovely and clean and tidy ( well downstairs does at least :o upstairs leaves alot to be deisred due to decorating and decluttering )

Lovely morning was spent together watching DD2 try her hand at skiing on the dry slope close by. She was given some vouchers for Christmas and loved every second of it. Its something she has wanted to do for sometime now and by all accounts is a natural. Apparently the fact she horse rides is an advantage for her, I guess it must be a balance thing.

DD1 back at college tomorrow, shes not happy about that, she has been working her socks off all weekend trying to get on top of her coursework and I found her fast asleep on top of the bed surrounded by laptop, books etc at 9pm. She was at work until 2am ( I didn't enjoy that pick up time at all :() so I think its caught up with her now. In the meantime us oldies are still going strong, I keep reminding her that we also have to stay awake until all hours ot go out and collect her and we are just as exhausted !!)

DD2, not back until to school until Tuesday so she is snuggled up on the sofa watching Return of the Jedi with Mr PG as she is desperate to catch up so she can see the new Movie. Think they are planning on going together. Mr PG goes away for a couple of weeks in the early hours, so they are been grabbing the chance to watch it while they can.

In the meantime my resolutions are going strong and I am still resisting the urge to pour a glass of PG, although I was very very tempted today :o

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend x

Well I can honestly say I am absolutely exhausted tonight, but also very pleased with myself ! Have had a very productive day again , although I could kill for a glass of wine now that I have finally parked my posterior on the office chair ! Its Day Four of Mrs PGs pledge to stay away from the yummy white stuff, so instead my tipple for tonight is a glass of tap water, served in a lovely huge wine glass, naturally !! :rotfl:

I have crammed a million things into the day including taking DD1 to college as I had forgotten to pay for her bus pass :o

Washed and dried some of the pillows (should have been done ages ago ) :o Will continue with the rest this week.

Stripped , washed, dried, ironed and remade DD1s bed. :)

Made an appointment to meet with Estate Agent re M&Ds house which I guess we need to get up for sale sometime soon.:(

Chased various other bits and bobs to do with my parents that were outstanding and finally drew a line under other matters. :)

Sold an item on Bay of E ,:T

Listed loads of toys with the help of DD2 , would have been better to do this before Christmas but we ran out of time, so Jan will have to do.:T

Put Xmas Decs in loft and hoovered house throughout.:)

Filled six sacks with gear for Charity Shop, currently in the boot of car to take tomorrow :)

Worked and secured some nice longish term jobs for later in the year :)

Entered into yet more battles with Predators Solicitor re looming Court Case, they are getting very very desperate not to end up in Court this week . We, on the other hand are now chomping at the bit to do exactly that !! Who would have thought it eh ?!! :D

Tried to calm DD1 down after a meltdown (on day one ) over College work and how on earth she will find the time to get it all done, sit her mocks and prepare her Portfolio for her looming Uni Interviews.:(

Manged a quick chat with Mr PG before he fell asleep after his 2am start today and now I am typing this random post on here when I probably should curl up on the sofa with my water and a book.
In my quest to do more reading, and the fact that I love all things Scandinavian, I am thoroughly enjoying "The Year of Living Danishly " So thats my burble for today, I am off in search of my book.

Hope you are all well....... Byee ! xx

Lovely posts Mrs PG. How productive you are!!

I agree re the balance thing..skiing is so much easier if you have a good sense of it. Now wait until she gets on the real stuff...its magic compared to a dry ski slope.

Agree also re the lack of wine..pretty tough but am sure it's worth it as if I crack now will never get back on track!

The new SW movie is magic...they'll love it!

I am feeling very smug Mrs B !!:p

Yep , DD2 will love the real stuff. We have never taken them, although Mr PG and myself skiied pre children. We took a sneaky weekend away in December, needed a break after everything that had gone on and there was real snow where we went . We only had two days but were hoping to get DD2 on skis while we were there but we ran out of time. I am on the look out for deals to get back out there for her to practice her new found skills. Mr PG will be 50 and DD1 18 and DD2 15 all within a couple of weeks of each other, so I am hoping if I can get a good enough deal it will be birthday pressies come celebrations all rolled into one. :)

They cant wait to go and see the SW Movie, I might even tag along ! xx

  • This morning ,for the first time in an age I took a long hard look at my signature and realised that I had made a right royal mess up of the figures :o Although we have cleared alot, more than 50% , my outstanding total was well and truly incorrect and the numbers didn't add up at all. Silly Mrs PG.

So I have corrected it all, sadly it doesn't look as appealing as it did, but we have cleared £54K :T:T This figure does include the accounts that appear to be UE, so as long as this weeks Court Case goes our way and the other two stay nicely quiet, those figures still stand.

£43K still to go and a huuuuuge mortgage still to sort. I wont put the mortgage in the figures as it will depress me and as I'm feeling happy this week( it is only Tuesday after all ) so I wont ruin it for myself.

We do have savings. Thats a first !! It looks better than it is really, as we often dip in to it when we are paid late, so we need that cushion really. All the money is pretty much allocated for , a little bit for DDs 18th, some savings towards Uni as I'm unsure we will get much help to cover Accommodation Costs etc, Mr PG needs a car after his was written off, he has a tiny run around, but with the amount of driving he does its not ideal, so I aim to get that sorted. The money is in various pots and some is made up of Bay of E sales, Q****o cashback, odd £10 or £20 I have stashed away and some compensation claims for poor service we have won, and its all added up to a nice total which is good. :)

Things are definitely looking up , so if I can knuckle down and 2016 goes our way, next years signature hopefully will look very pleasing indeed.

    Onwards and upwards xxx :D

What a thorough sort out you've been having Mrs PG! Fantastically well done on the hard work, progress and figures - now that you're well and truly more than half way on debt-busting it must feel great. I really, really hope that the looming court case goes your way gives you the boost you richly deserve.
    Better is good enough.
