Whoopee Im glad you are still hanging around ! Not the most exciting diary these days im afraid as I am frequently absent !
Oh Honey Bear, I forgot to say hello and thankyou for your lovely kind words when I posted quickly the other day . I try and keep as upbeat as possible , as I think we all do . Hope the diaries didnt bore you too much.
In amongst all our rubbish stuff thats going, for those of you that been around for ages and ages, can you believe that we are currently attending Uni Open Days for DD1, where has the time gone ? Tomorrow we are off for Uni visit number three .I cant believe she is nearly all grown up ! You would never really know it though, still as crazy and scatty as ever but a real homebird. Not sure how she will cope being away at Uni but time will tell !! Shes loving the thought of it, but not too impressed by the standard of Student accomodation she has viewed so far :rotfl: . DD2 began her GCSE courses last week and so far is loving it !! My babies are all growing up, Im not sure I like it much !!
I am totally exhausted by our rubbishy stuff. Wont go into detail now but its not going to go away anytime soon, so apologies in advance if I post and its a bit bleurgh.
Mr PG isnt around much, work is erratic, very tough out there, and money is a mess. Savings depleted to keep on top of mortgage but the mortgage is now in arrears. But good news today is that a PPI claim that was rejected has been reviewed and they say that they made an error with original decision back in 2013. £100 winging its way to us, not much but its £100 we didn't have this morning and is very much appreciated. :T We have finally paid off the bill to THEM but we are now five months behind on the latest bill to THEM so we are once more in an arrangment and the uphill battle begins again ! Maybe I would miss THEM if we actually ever find ourselves in a situation where we could pay our entire bill on time !!
Financial Ombudsmen rejected out bank charges claim which we were claiming on the basis of financial hardship. We fought it tooth and nail but it wasnt rejected as they didn't feel that we had a case. It was rejected that due to bereavement, illness, MR PG having to leave the country, DD1 was being poorly after bereavement, money was a total mess etc etc that we were one month outside of the timescale given to respond as there was too much else far more important that needed dealing with to find time for that also. After a battle they rejected it for that reason alone , yet in the same letter state that exceptional circumstances were all those reasons of which I had listed and proved were happening, but to no avail and they will not enter into discussion any further. I am not happy but a bit tired of it now and have far too much else going on to give it any more time . On this occasion, I tried and I failed and I still need to find the time to fight the Packages Bank Accounts, so I will save my energy and arguments for that !!
So that's a very quick update and if I'm honest doesn't even cover half of whats been occurring in the PG Household of late, but its a start and I am soooo tired that I don't think I can keep my eyes open for much longer. I am hoping that DD1 calls me shortly for pick up , and I can go and collect her and then crawl into my PJS !!
I hope you all are having a lovely weekend and are enjoying the sunshine and I will be back soon xxxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Thank you for the update Mrs PG. Nothing that you've written could possibly bore me; I found reading your diary uplifting because of the way you write about your family. What I forgot to say in my original post was how much I admire Mr PG for being willing to work so hard so far from home for so long. It must be very hard on you all.
And how wonderful for your DD1 that she is embarking on such an exciting part of her life! I've just written a pretty massive post about student accommodation on Happy Now's diary and to be honest if people can afford it the purpose built blocks are, I think, the way forward. They're excellently well-managed here, cause not a scrap of disturbance locally and at the moment only form about 5% of the total housing required for the students. It takes money out of the local economy but some of the places some students live in are an absolute disgrace and the landlords should be ashamed of themselves so I can't feel a lot of sympathy as the bad ones go by the wayside.
I'm sorry about your rejected claim, that's a right bummer, but if you can let it go and concentrate on the one more likely to succeed, at least you can conserve your energies for the positives. It seems THEY are just a pretty semi-permanent fixture, but you've turned the juggernaut around and you will get there. Onwards and upwards as they say. Thank you for being willing to share your story.Better is good enough.0 -
