yet I am in the wrong,
I am happy to live in the house wants it is deed fit, but at the moment, I have running down the bedroom wall and bathroom wall, yet I should pay for this luxury, all my LL does is find a muppet who will rent his house for a year get £10k out of them and when they leave find some one else
you're not in the wrong ...yet, but you will be if you don't pay rent mate, why make it harder for yourself? get £2400 back from him. :beer:0 -
hes coming out tomoz apparently, not going to mention the rent, going to ask for the scheme the bond is in, and ask him if he would let his kids live in the house like it is, and see what he says, as if he says no, then say so its ok for my kids too, if he says yes, he is talking !!!!!!!! as his house is spotless and is the best of everthing
I would rather take the 1600 now than wait months for 24000 -

but you aren't just taking the 1600 now, you'll also be taking a CCJ and punishing your credit report, you may not need it now, but at some point in your life you will, then you are screwed.
have you been inside his other house before? lol0 -
there's really no point in trying to guide you, you've made up your mind and no one will pursuade you to do otherwise.0

only the hall way, he lives in one the biggest house in our village, 5 merc on the drive,
like I said he is coming out tomoz, so will see what he says, as I think he will say I wil get a builder to come look at it, been waiting for a month for him to do that, so am going to tell him, we are not living in the house why it is in this condition or why the work is getting done, and will be using the rent to find some where to live, as he has had a month to even come and look at the roof and 10 months to fix other parts, which I think is more than enough, considering he goes past my house every night0 -

BIT OF A UPDATE
LL turned up at 4pm, shown him all the probs, he is happy for us to move out as long as we give him notice, he doesn't want to get EH in, as doesn't want the hassle, wont get work fixed till we move out, to not disturb us, and bond isn't in a scheme, its in his bank account0 -
At least you know you'll get your deposit back in full. And you get to leave the house you hate.
I can understand the LL not wanting to start major works while there are tenants in place. It's a nightmare trying to coordinate tradespeople and access that suits the tenants, never mind the upheaval of the actual work.
I hope you find somewhere that's more to your satisfaction.0
