I live in a rented house, and have a leak that is coming through the ceiling, the house is a old granite farm house and has been nothing but a pain since we moved in, I can live with a bit of damp as it hasn't been that bad, ie open windows in day time, but since we have the bad weather in October, the walls seem to be wet all the time,
I have asked my LL to come out since 30 oct and all I get is I am busy, we was meant to come out Friday after noon, but didn't turn up and then phoned me to say, am going away for the weekend and will see you Monday,
I have spoke to the council and asked about a loan to move out and they said they wont help unless I am getting evicted, which my LL will not do as he wants my rent, I have 2 months left on my tenancy (ends end of jan 14) so will be moving out not matter what,
how long does my LL have to come out and get work done, will try and up load pics

Contact the Environmental Health Officer at your local Council. They have powers to enforce repairs for safety issues.0
