  • #62 looks like dry or wet rot: Any landlord with 1/2 a brain (**) would get those looked at very fast....

(**) Not all landlords have even 1/2 a brain: Also true, sadly, for some agents and one-or-two tenants..

So are EH coming out to look at the house? Please?

If not ring tomorrow and tellm them you have been told by past tenant that the house was comdemned some years ago (be specific if you can).

Do you have a local councillor? Check there details on-line and make an appointment ASAP. Make it plain you want to move and want your deposit back to help you do that.

  • EH, wont come out, they want paper work and pictures, before they decided weather to send an inspector

he knows I want to move, am going to the CAB tomoz and then poss solicitor depending on what they say
  • Good luck:

Ask CaB if they have a solicitor who drops in or access to solicitors (I know of one bureau that has solicitors available for 20 mins no charge every week or so..).

Badger your case worker until they actually come out to visit.

Had to do the same when I had issues. It took a few phone calls and emails before they got moving.

Just to reiterate, you won't be homeless if its declared unfit for habitation, the landlord must provide you with accommodation. So don't worry about no offer of social housing.

Can you go down to their offices and get all the paperwork done ASAP? Rather than having to wait for the postie.
*Assuming you're in England or Wales.
  • going CAB today, and its in the same building as the council, so lets see what happens today
  • It looks horrendous. I hope you get Environmental Health to take you seriously.

So they will come out if you follow their procedures and they find there may be a case for the LL to answer. That seems reasonable to me.

I sympathise with you, I really do, and from some of your replies on here I wonder if you're suffering from depression, but also you have to accept that you will need to invest a bit of time and effort into managing this part of your life to get a good result. There's no magic wand that anyone here or anywhere else can wave for you to fix things up, and whatever you do, you will end up having to follow a process to get somewhere.

You need to take charge of your own affairs and start following the steps you need to get a good result for you. Just shrugging your shoulders and going "oh well" at every little thing will end up with you being forced to follow a process that will end well for the LL and badly for you. Surely that should be the last thing you want.
