Out of my last box i made,potato and leek soup, butternut,cauliflower and chick pea curry,cabbage and ham..the other veg was mainly used up as sides/accompaniments....didnt do anything fancy with the fruit at all,just ate it as it was.(stuck the blackberries in the freezer,with the blueberries from the last delivery)..
Ive a new delivery coming tomorrow,ive asked to change my order from 2/3rd Veg..1/3rd Fruit large box..to a large veg and a small fruit box...its going to cost £30 (£20 for the large Veg,and £10 for the small Fruit)...lets hope its worth it.trying to "UP" our fruit n veg intake.;)Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.

For those of you who use A&C and eat meat - they now do bags of organic free-range chicken carcasses for £1.74. With the last bag we made a big pot of stock for soup, and there was enough nice meat there to add to that, with the rest feeding the cats twice. We always make stock when we have a chicken, and love their chicken, but don't always want to do a roast midweek -this seems a really inexpensive getting the stock anyway.2023 Decluttering Campaign: 89/20230

,very happy with the contents..think the veg box at £20 may be better value than the £10 fruit box...Tho I havent compared prices on my supermarket.com yet.
not sure if im going to continue with the increased delivery,or revert back to my mixed box and topping up from the supermarket...im trying hard to stay away from supermarkets..its the only way im ever going to save money.lol;)
I paid £30 in total for my delivery...supermarket.com came up with the following comparison.
ASDA=£27.77(but 7 items missing))
TESCO=£27.85( 1 item missing)
SAINSBURYS,=£30.89(5 items missing)
OCADO=£36.55(8 items missing)
WAITROSE=£36.99(8 items missing)
So looks like im still getting good quality F+V delivered free at very competitive prices.Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.

Arrived yesterday:
Pak choi
Leeks
Carrots
Red pepper
Green cabbage
Mandarins
Bananas
Apples
A good selection this week, all stuff I'll use up easily. I've still got one and a half celeriac sitting in the fridge - I quite like it mixed half and half with potato in mash, or a small quantity in a mixed veg stew, but I find the flavour too strong to eat on its own. Has anyone got any ideas what I could do with them, before they go mouldy?
Karamac - thanks for pointing that out - I hadn't seen that on the A&C website. I've got one small chicken carcass sitting in the freezer which isn't big enough for a decent batch of stock - I'll buy another and get cooking.Back after a very long break!0 -

I made beetroot and celeriac dauphinoise a few times-it was delicious
(look on uk good food for the recipe-I use chrome and somehow this site won't let me put hyperlinks in from it) I made lots and froze them0 -

Hi everyone.
I have just restarted with Abel & Cole. They are doing a deal at the moment buy 3 boxes and get the 4th free (I think it is over a 4 week period). They also gave me their free cookery book, which is quite handy as it uses up a lot of the foods they sell. Also this week (I get my delivery on a Wednesday) I am getting a free gift of a box of 4 free range eggs.
I only have a small mixed fruit and veg box as I am on my own and there was plenty in it for me. As another poster mentioned they also sell meat bones and chicken carcasses for making stock. I only used half and froze the rest. Their website is quite good too as there are lots of recipes using the veg I don't usually buy, like fennel and celeriac. Both are actually yummy.
And no, I don't work for them, just like fresh food.
Off to have some homemade soup now0
