My point in starting this thread was that TNT were delivering the mail themselves here. As far as I can see they had the mail sorted and distributed to delivery staff locally, somewhere along the line they've given up deliveries and sent it back to Royal Mail. Consequently the mail has been sorted twice before ever getting to be delivered.

I've sent a complaint through to TNT and they've told me they're looking into it.

TNT have dabbled in deliveries for years
under DSA. The likes of TNT will sort the mail anyway to get the better rate from RM(less RM sorting, cheaper price)
So i dont see it adding much.
However i have heard that they get a better rate for making a bulk delivery to the mail centres rather than multiple drops
this could be a core reason for delay
Mail centre stuff isnt really something I am knowledgable on to be fair though

They've been delivering in London for a while and apparently started in Manchester early November. Doesn't look like they had much in the way of a plan for how it would work and ditched it after a fortnight.
That is unless anyone has seen a TNT delivery person around Manchester in the last week. I think I'm the only one to have noticed any in the first place.
