TNT mail

Options
Is it as slow as I seem to think.

Received an invoice posted on 12 Nov on 21st. I wouldn't usually care but it was payment in 7 days, looks like I was late.

The 2 postmen I've seen out and about looked as though they were lost.

Anyone using it as a seller? They did approach me a while back but I wasn't convinced, plus there was barely a saving on RM for products we send.

Didn't realise they did deliveries, thought they just sorted it and gave it to Royal Mail to deliver

In most places TNT post is delivered by RM. The only place I have heard of with TNT delivering letters is in Chiswick. Who were your bewildered postmen from?

Looks like they have actual post men in Manchester. I might be being mean saying they looked bewildered, it was probably in their first few days, although they did!
I've seen one in central Manchester and one at home, which is a fair way north of the city centre.

Apparently it is just Manchester they've added, on 6th.
I'm surprised at the companies using it. A local council and several financial institutions. If the dates on my late personal mail are anything to go by I wouldn't advise for any online sellers, especially this side of Christmas.

There was a tv program a few months ago regarding TNT postal deliveries. It turns out that they only actually go out on deliveries every other day, also the postman if out on the round for too long gets a phone call from their depot advising them to return, along with any undelivered mail, this is due not wanting too pay overtime etc.

So, if your letter was out for delivery on the Monday, but went back to the depot due to postman running out of time, your letter will then not go out for delivery again until the Wednesday.

They seem to work slowly compared to RM. RM postman walks like a bolt of lightning compared to the TNT postman. It looks like they just give them too much stuff and they get overwhelmed.

"Overwhelmed" seems like a good description. The ones I've seen looked a bit like the staff they used to have on the music counter at my local Woolworths.

That's because they are awaiting the phone call 'Are you cold, then please return to nice warm depot and screw anyone waiting on their mail'

I guess that's not a big deal on non time sensitive items. I've had a few bank statements delivered by them which isn't a problem. I'm not sure how they sell their services, a week for an inland letter seems a bit excessive.

Thats great compared to the jokers at royal mail

23 days and counting for a 1st class signed for letter to be delivered.

Still acceptable according to royal mail customer services.
