So why have we all not had sanctions? I do not even have a UJM account and the advisor knows this.

Around 65,000 sanctions are being issued every month (580,000 sanctions between Oct 12-June13), I'm sure they'll get round to you eventually.

'From Monday you may be forced to sign up to the Universal Jobmatch and threatened with sanctions if you refuse to do so. When this happens, it is important that you protect your rights and privacy when creating an account.'

Do you really know what MAY BE means?

It's still the same thing because it states in the link people could be sanctioned. you think you know it all don't you.

A lot of people on Consumer action group and digitalspy forums have been threatened with sanction if their don't sign up, maybe have a look on them sites if you don't believe me !!

1 day you will get a nasty advisor and their will bully you into signing up.

Yeah sign up, so what? I'll sign up and ask them like I have before 'where do you add the cover letter' or 'why are over 10,000 jobs advertised in London are not actually in London', or 'why are near on 60 % of jobs 3 rd party adverts'

They reply will be the same as its been 'I have no idea' so 'get me someone who does before I sign up'

What facts are you quoting about it being mandatory?

Show me a link from the DWP!!

"14. However, where attempts to persuade JSA claimants to create a profile and public CV have failed, a Jobseeker’s Direction can be used to mandate them to do so in appropriate circumstances. Further guidance on how and when JSA claimants can be mandated to create a profile and public CV can be found in Chapter 3 of this toolkit."

Don't be too sure, if you are unavoidably late to sign-on one day, it's highly likely that you will be sanctioned.

You may currently have a reasonable adviser, but that could change at anytime. If you are issued a direction to create an account, expect to be sanctioned if you don't.

the UJM has been going a very long while though.

I can create an account and I do not have to use it.
