Yes, I reckon Google buying Motorola was a very strategic move. Not only did they acquire literally thousands of patents, but they now have a manufacturing arm and can fire a warning shot to huge Android phone makers like Samsung who have been looking at deveoping their own OS. Imo the Moto G is Google saying step in line or this phone and amazing price from us is the future.Plus it makes Apple's phones look even more ridiculously overpriced than even I thought.
How cheap is the Moto G for what you are getting? The Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 costs £240 SIM free from Tesco. Have a look how they compare:

PS The RAZR i is a superb phone but maybe too quirky to have been a huge hit.0 -
MillicentBystander you seem to know a fair bit about this phone
would you say its worth getting on contract with tesco?
500 mins 500 texts 1gb data
I know it probably works out a bit cheaper to go payg but not by that much and if its decent phone it will do me 2 years and I will cap it as well
would probably pay £10 p/m payg for similar, also I am looking to repair a bad credit rating so another plus for contract
considering I am currently at the end of a ee/tmobile cntract with a galaxy ace 300mins/texts it seems a decent deal all in0 -
Finding a decent case is a bit tricky.
I bought this BAAS® Motorola Moto G - Stylish S Line Gel Case Cover , Touch Screen Stylus Pen & 3x Screen Protector Guard (Black) - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00GW579GK/ref=pe_385721_37986871_TE_item
and don't like it.
Alternatives are these:

I'm assuming you haven't seen my posts on what I think of contracts.I think they are the spawn of the devil personally. They just last so ruddy long and leave you tied into one network. Far better to buy this phone outright, especially at Tescp prices, then get a 30 day commitment SIM deal. There are some amazing bargains out there especially when you consider that the Moto G bought outright only costs £4/mth over the course of 24 months.

cheers for that, yeah I know ideally that would be best but can't really afford the £130 upfront for phone and I guess even then it will be say £10 p/m sim/payg/top up etc ?
Plus the fact it will help my credit rating
Out of interest what would be the best way to go sim only/payg ?
and even though you don't like contracts would you say its not a bad deal considering that? (even if you are stuck in it for 24 months which is my main bug bear) £15 p/m seems fairly reasonable I certainly wouldn't got for one of these mental £30+ p/m contracts with a over priced phone0 -
Eek, probably best I don't comment any further as my thoughts on taking out a contract phone because you can't afford to buy it upfront are controversial to some. At the end of the day the decision is yours alone so good luck in whatever you do.0

Haha that's fair enough mate, main reason I can't afford lump sum is just got my first flat (well renting as that's all I can afford to) and I have had to furnish it from scratch as it was basically an ex crack heads or something and in real mess, so that's left me with zero cash on the hip so to speak, what with xmas coming up as well *shudders*
so be a while before I can get it up front and then I'll be paying say £10 p/m sim free/top up etc and all the while still paying £16/17 p/m on my contract with a crap phone and 200 less mins/texts than this one
I lost my business a few years ago and went bankrupt hence the need to build my credit rating up a bit so thought that would help (was surprised carphone warhouse even gave me a contract 2 years ago tbh)
last time I had payg it was like 20p per minute so a 10er top didn't last to long, I take it they do better deals now ?0 -
a little bit off topic, but has anyone noticed that the WeQ4U app doesn't seem to intercept 08 calls directly from the dialler? (as it did on my SGS3)
Also - just checking - Moto Assist...does anyone get any options for driving (other than a tick box)?0 -
is smgreen1969 on holiday as i have just bought the unlock code ???
hoping he emails me back today with the code0 -
