cheers pal, think I am going to go with others advice and buy the phone outright and go with three's 321 payg instead of contract when I can actually get the sodding thing that is :(

The Ovivo option, doesn't appeal to you Bigdebtboy?

Strange you don't get a ac charger, never known that with a phone before, charging on a laptop takes years as well plus often not possible,so that's a must, bumping the price a little.

how much better is this phone than the Huawei g300 for anyone who has tried both?
I think it is good it doesn't come with a charger, less landfill. I have a Bluetooth speaker which has a USB port which I use to charge it. I bought a Huawei Ascend G300 in May 2012 and tried it for a couple of weeks before I returned it for a refund. The screen was poor, both as a display and the accuracy of the touchscreen was bad. You had to almost press to get it to respond, especially anywhere near the edge of the screen. Mine started doing factory resets at random times. Perhaps I just had a duff model, but I haven't had that with a phone ever before. Touch wood the moto g pulls off the magic trick of cheap and cheerful!

The freedom 10 does but then I won't be much better off than contract at £17.50 when I factor in buying the phone outright, plus heard you get loads of annoying adverts when browsing and that would do my nut in.

Yeah. Any 5v USB charger will be compatible.

I meant standard chargers for older Motorola phones?

Older motorola phone chargers probably wont fit, as motorola (like many other companies) previously used proprietary chargers. This phone uses the now standard micro usb charge slot. Any usb charger will work for this phone. If you need to buy one, you shouldnt need to pay any more than 5 to 10 quid for one. Just search on amazon or ebay.

I've bought this phone for my son for Christmas and was hoping to give him an unlocking code with it. I need the imei number and wonder if it is possible to get this without going through a set up process. When I turned the phone on it asked me to select wi-fi, accept privacy settings etc. Is there a way of getting the number without going through all this please?

Is your IMEI number not on a label stuck to the outside of the box? Most phones I've had have this on the box.

Failing that look for a label somewhere in the battery compartment. You may have to take the battery out to see it.

Expect it to happen more often.

Don't think the battery comes out of the MotoG
If you do turn the phone on key in *#06# on the keyboard and the IME: number will come up But it should be on the side of the box it came in as virgo17 said

I just brought one myself nice phone but just my luck the Unlock code i ordered on eBay doesn't work Waiting now for the person to get back to me.
