Hmm eyeing up this for wifey....

Getting Sim-mania confusion (why can't they just leave the flaming things alone they have not been very big for years)

I think I would need one of these..

To cut her Giffgaff Mini SIM (in a San Francisco) to a Micro SIM for this phone?

Could you not ask them to send you a replacement sim ?

and do not need a phone to do much more than make calls or txt

Your normally need some sort of data plan to use on Viber,to cover you when you cant get wi fi access.

Trusting Giffgaff not to fluff it up, then try to get hold of 'customer service' to sort it out? In a ideal world yes I could but my spider sense tingling tells me it would go horribly wrong.

That's the one I bought and worked really well.

    Cracking phone by the way...

Just gutted no Argos within a million miles has one, they were selling 16GB SIM free at £118... huge bargain!

if you order some new normal sims from giffgaff they come with a pushout section so the normal becomes micro sim.
then sign in and follow the lost sim instruction , so you can swap the sim straight away without loss of service

Hi - I have a very old mobile just for making calls - but i do travel a lot and use skype when i get wifi on my laptop but i was told that i should get VIBER on my mobile and could phone for free anyone else using VIBER - just to say i am retired and do not need a phone to do much more than make calls or txt - so my question is what basic [not necessarily cheapest] phone can i buy so i can use VIBER - i would prefer PAYG and a good size screen - charmaine

I use Viber to make calls and msg my friends and family. Its free but u do need internet on ur phone.

If u want to buy a cheap phone then why not check this website CWH:
    http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/mobiles/pay-as-you-go/upgrades

You can buy Samsung galaxy Y which is just under £30. or Huawei ascend Y300 which is under £40. there is Nokia and Blackberry too.

But if you looking for a good top class phone but dont want to spend much then Moto G is the best out of all

I'm pretty sure that is a mistake on the website. 16GB is listed as £118, 8GB as £139.99. They have clearly got them the wrong way round. Whether they would honour it is a different story!

Aye. but somting not right here in all EDINBURGH Argos stores

8GB which says £139.95 is in Stock.
16GB which says £118.75 is OUT OF STOCK.

so argos is making more money on 8GB and then they will will say it was just a online mistake. till then they will scam the people.

So, it's not 'free' then, is it! ;)

PS - I tried Viber on my iPhone 3Gs last year - the call quality was terrible - I deleted the app
