So, the walk was somewhat reduced as I was on the side of the road that had the Interchange and a little run got me on a bus, thus saving 2 miles!

I went to every single c shop - 8, not 7 - and then got the bus to another area where there are 4 more. Total spent: £8 hard cash. Go me!

The Sally Army was my first stop, as I had £6 credit with them. And I spent it on: man dolly for dd, insulated lunch bag for me, HK tshirt for dd, long-sleeved top for me and 3x items for fabric.

Elsewhere, I acquired a RM book, some doodles for next summer, work trousers for me (FINALLY!), some adult tap shoes, a nice windcheater-each item being only £1. And a shirt for dh for £3.

I saw so many dance shoes and was tempted to buy more, and then sell them for a little bit more... But restrained myself to just 1 pair. I also saw some gorgeous coats for dd, but she has 2 winter ones already, so I reluctantly put them back!

I did nip to the bank and get £10 of silver for float. I have absolutely no idea what I'll need.

Before going out, I washed the rug and swept the floor, did one load of washing up, cut out eyes and beaks for the owls, got out the ironing board as a reminder, and got my coffee!

I shall now finish those owls then have my lunch.

NST: December is up and I have joined!

    Festive and frugal.

Set all budgets: done but needs a few tweaks. Not much wiggle room! Tho with dh away, we should spend less on food, fuel, travel, utilities... Although he's only away for 12 days...
Pay towards debt/savings first: will do on 1st Dec
    15 NSD: yep
    £5 donations: yep
Plan all outings and say no to new ones (work out the % of debt they cost!): will double check calendar. No official outings/meet-ups yet, but dh is away 10 - 22, so just me and dd and weekends are usually quite busy. The only free weekend before Cmas, my dad is away so we can't go and visit him!
Minimum 'extra' spends: will plan dates and set a budget
Lunch to work every day: yep - only 8 needed
    Do a good deed: yep
Write 5 achievements from 2014: hope to get at least 5!

I want and need to keep more detailed notes of spends, especially the ch shop ones.

Food spending needs reining in - still having 2 veggie boxes so aldee shops must be less! All the more as there are 5 Wednesdays in Dec - eek! Must check veg box is 2 and not 3.

Postage has an allocation all of its own, as the three dsc are on other continents!

Also wish to craft, exercise, step, declutter, do my %...

    Enough twittering for now!

Today is the day! The school fair. We'll see if I sell anything...! Last night's dream was about setting up the table and it went wrong: ended up trying to get a lamp to work when there was no socket, I hadn't brought a lamp, and then my allocated table had stuff dumped on it!

So what IS the set up plan?

    - use pale blue backing paper to cover the table and attac with sticky tape.
    - set up 2' tree in the middle with silver tinsel round base and on it, so that decorations stand out.
    - set up two, maybe three, 2 litre bottles filled with rice then stick the branches and hang things on them.
    - put out the boxes, line with serviettes and fill
    - attach prices

    Also need:
    - food and drink as will be there 10-3+.
    - pen and paper, notebook
    - Santa hat so I look a little festive - it is a Cmas fair, after all!
    - float and box to put it in

Best go and get sorted! Hope the2 hours I allow for setting up is enough!!

    Thank you MWC.

It ended up being rather a disappointment, really. Thought for a long time that I'd mot even make enough to cover the table fee! Earned a grand total of ...£10.70.

Had lots of compliments on what I'd made, and people liked the display. But pitiful sales. Oh well.

Last day of the month - yay!

After a little oversleep, dd and I managed to get to kids klub only 2 mins late - phew. It was a quieter morning than is often the case, so I quite enjoyed it. Dh stayed home - still not very well, poor thing. Dd and I dropped off our food for the CAP foodbank.

Both yesterday and today have been NSDs, taking me up to 18/18. It's a more satisfying way to end the month, after my account went so low last week. A timely reminder, maybe, of what it feels like to be very low on available funds. Hopefully dec can start with 2 more NSDs as I'm working mon and tues.

2 jobs to do: make biscuits for dd, and go through my Christmas list.

Sorry to hear the fair didn't reap lots of £s :( I used to do them (with soaps, bathsalts, bodyscrubs, bodybutters and stuff - handmade & aromatherapy based, so no 'nasties') - ad sometimes ones which I thought would be great I took hardly anything. Can be quite soul destroying. Lots of positive comments is a good thing, though :)

Have you got any others arranged? Are you using some stock as presents for Xmas? (teachers and family always had whatever I had the most left of come Xmas time!!)

    Happy December!

Dh has been poorly for 2 weeks now and has finally been persuaded to take the day off and go to the doctor. So I also get a more leisurely start to the day: dd can have an extra 30 mins sleep, I get extra mse mooching time in the peace and quiet of the morning, then I'll wake her and start getting her ready, and dh will finish and take her to the neighbour's.

Busy day ahead. New work trousers to be worn!

Lots whizzing round my brain, but not much that is coherent enough to put down on here. Best go and get breakfasted and dressed - don't think the dress code allows for jamas, even though it doesn't explicitly mention them...

Thank you greent - your kind words were the prefect antidote to how I was feeling!

Thanks to the prodding of a work colleague, I've now secured a table at my school's fair next monday. £5 for the table! I teach sixth form at the end of my day, so I don't think there will be any objections to finishing early!

And yes, dd's classmates will be getting the 'spares' this year!

Yesterday, while dd was doing her mathletics, I pulled out the 2 sofas and cleaned the disgusting floor underneath and behind them. Yuk!

Today I plan to do the front of the lounge and the bookcases. More dust!! Something to look forward to when at work!!

I also plan to have a rootle through the selling stuff and see if I should have a mad rush on making any more. Am pretty sure it won't be necessary, but would like to check anyway.

And I have a governor meeting at 5.30 - ugh - so need to read up on the documents before I go.

Maybe I should just skip the 'work' part of the day...:D
