Pip had a fab time. I tried not to worry (🤣), and he let us know when he arrived, left, was on the final train. He knew no one at the event and came away with a couple more friends 😎. I'm so proud of him, all the more so because it was a journey we'd never done before. However, he's still off school. He has such a rotten cough, worse at night, of course. So he's not sleeping well. And he says his legs just hurt so he can't turn over to sleep and ease the cough. It's hard to know what to do, as he sometimes feels a small pain (to us) as big, and is mega stoical about big pains. He also has a slight temperature and is unable to make any decisions. That last one is the key factor for me deciding he's to stay home. And there's a two day art exam later this week, which he needs to be fit to do!I'm glad to have finished my invigilating for now . I worked 4 days out of 5, and until the final day, we only had 15 mins to eat lunch. I hit over 10k steps every day!I spent £80 in liddle this morning, stocking up. We were down to just 5 rashers of bacon, so it was an urgent shop!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

Some days just feel like an endless holiday. The air is chill but the sun is shining. Trees are getting greener. Pip has gone to school and I've been to liddle and had a good gym sesh.Once the shopping was away, I tidied up and hoovered as much of pip's floor as I could so that we could move the bunk bed over to get at a corner where black mould was appearing. I cut back the wallpaper to uncover the mould then between us, we sprayed it, left it to work, cleaned it and then did it all again, just to be sure.Washing went outside. The lovely neighbour mowed the front lawns.I went to my fave charity shop, and for £10, got 7 ties (3 of them are silk), 3 quirky or nice plant pots, a toy baby penguin and a cushion cover for my cousin (a bit of a random gift, but she'll like it!). These are all for Pip to choose from for teacher presents. He knew what he wanted for each teacher and in 3 days, we've sourced them all - Ryman, market stall, Flying Tiger, v1nted, charity shop and local plant + flower seller have provided them all.Pip has just 4 more days of real school left!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Pip has been off school for the last two days and will most likely be off for the rest of the week. We saw a Dr today who was nicely proactive and we left with antibiotics and the necessary equipment for a stool sample. Oh joy!We are currently waiting on a callback from 111, Pip sitting on the bathroom floor and me on the landing. All sounds very dramatic, and I guess it is. Pip has had a cough for several weeks and it's recently developed into making his body retch, poor mite. Cue 2.30 and a bad session. There's been no blood involved, thankfully, so I don't think we'll be sent to hospital. It's just so rotten for Pip.Anyhow, we're now being serenaded by birdsong now after a ton of heavy rainfall, long bouts of rumbling thunder and weird long bouts of lightning.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Poor Pip Hope this is easily resolved and nothing too serious.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -
Hope pip gets well soon
well done on the charity finds!DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Oh no. Hoping 111 helped2

Thank you. ❤️ 111 arranged a callback which came about an hour later. In the end, it was down to us whether we went to paediatric A+E or not. And Pip opted not to. He settled in bed around 5.30 - 3 pillows, the washing up bowl to hand, lights on and phone in hand. He wasn't ready to lie down, nor have somewhere to retch, nor be in darkness. Understandable.I nabbed a couple of hours sleep then dressed and headed to pip's school, cos I'm arranging a present for the head of year and pip had brought the card home on Mon. Then I sent some wattsapp messages to sort out the money collection. Dh suggested I go to the gym. So I did - and felt better for it.I woke pip at midday. He's brighter, if a mega pale face and dark-circled eyes counts! He wants to go to school tomorrow and I've got tomorrow's schedule from the head of year, so we can make an informed decision about what Pip goes in for.Now I just need to vote, buy a succulent or cactus, buy a cheap plant and go and collect an envelope from the school.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

So sorry to hear Pip is feeling so rotten, it sounds like a very weakening type of bug. My sister-in-law has a similar cough but in her case it's her bladder that's being affected. Hoping Pip makes a speedy recovery x2

Pip went to school today 🎉🎉🎉. Arrived for break time and stayed until the end. Go Pip! He managed to hand out all the teacher presents and generally had a good time. Since getting home, he's kind of collapsed. So tired out. He now has no school until his exams on Thursday. Phew.

Well done Pip for lasting the school day and enjoying it! It will be good to have a few days off before the exams start.3
