i do hope you and Pip can find the support you needMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Thank you all for your unswerving support and love 💕Yesterday we had a call from the Dr we saw at the start of the month, who emailed CAMHS and who has been chasing them. In short, she suggested making an appointment with 'our' GP as he's her mentor and is senior enough and knows us well enough to prescribe happy pills for pip. And this morning I rang the practice for one of their emergency appointments with him, and got one. We are now the proud owners of the magic piece of green paper to take to a chemist tomorrow. This is such a relief. And our GP will see pip every 2-3 weeks to see how it's going and whether it's the right happy pill, or if another sort might be better. We got pip's mocks results: all 7s, 8s and 9s. What a star! And pip had a meeting with his 'personal progressions advisor' (who happens to he the Head!) today, and now has made a decision about which A levels to do. English language, theatre studies and physics. And deffo a gap year in which he hopes to work in the climbing centre, possibly apply to uni, maybe get a portfolio together for costume design... Excellent news on the happy pills, but also on the GCSE results! Hopefully planning for the future will give Pip something to look forward to, although a gap year to let the old brain cool down would be very helpful. I knew plenty of people in my time at university who wished they'd had some kind of break in between it all but parents pushed them to go straight from GCSEs to A-Levels and then straight to university (although obviously many parents may have had to push because they couldn't afford to support child for a year) and they found it quite hard."You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.

Just delurking on here to send a message of pride in Pip (and his mum!) those are incredible results against a testing backdrop. I hope the happy pills settle things and they find some peace to enjoy the eclectic a levels and unbounded horizons2

Super news about pip on two fronts! Amazing mock exam results which he truly deserved for the effort put in, and so good that he has been prescribed anti-depressants by the family GP. All sounding positive at the apple household!1

The show is finished! And pip inevitably crashed. But so totally enjoyed doing the show that it's worth it (almost). He has trouble getting to sleep last night, and I only left him around 11.30. About 30 mins later I was in the bathroom throwing up. Glutenised. The next few hours were spent in that room, emptying my digestive system in both directions. Sigh. But the 'good ' thing is that when it's all out, it's all out. After taking Pip to school, I've spent the day in bed, no surprise there. Though I've not slept, just rested and gotten up to potter on with washing everything that was in the bathroom, scrubbing down the bath, changing the bed, and getting plenty of fluids down me.I've also made a rice pud in the slow cooker: normal rice, coconut and rice milk, cinnamon and chopped dates. Yum!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5
