2 miles done after a hard weights workout. I really really dislike treadmill running.

2 f+v boxes acquired. 8 big potatoes currently baking in the oven. It's a much chillier day than yesterday so I don't mind having the oven on.

Today we have no children appearing in our house. Apart from my niece this afternoon. And she's 27! Yesterday the 2 grandsons were just so tired after 2+ weeks of being hither and thither. So they were quite squabbly and very fractious. It was a very blissful quiet that settled on the house after they left! They are now somewhere in the Dubai area boarding their flight to Oz.

Pip is exhausted! They are hyper empathetic, so having upset kiddies around means that they are absorbing all the upset, as well as trying to cope with the screaming and crying.

Dh is out for several hours, prob until mid-afternoon. Big sis is arriving at 12; niece at 2. So pip and I have several hours to enjoy the peace and quiet.

I waddled for 3 miles yesterday. Pip isn't up to accompanying me to the gym nor being left alone this morning, so I might have a play with my new kettle bell...

The house is finally our own again. Socialising is all done and dusted. Phew. Big sis + niece have headed back north. Dh is out. But life has crashed for pip.

Dh is away from tomorrow for 6 days, so it'll be even quieter. On a selfish note, it'll mean that my early morning gym visits are not available. Pip can come along for free between 9-12 in the hols, so depending on how they are, I might still get there occasionally. But given the current crash, I'm not counting on it. And I have enough equipment at home anyway.

It is such a lovely feeling to not have any school prep to do

Pip has had a huge separation anxiety day today, so has been in the same room as me all day. We went up to the gym and pip sat in a corner with their phone while I did my stuff. Then we went to the local shops and got an amazing amount for £5 from one ch shop: 2 pairs of leggings, a small hwb, a bear Sylvanian families figure, a tub of needlefelting stuff and ribbons. In another ch shop, pip tried on some Dr Martens that were their size and really liked them until seeing the price -£45 😱😱😱. We'll get some from v1nt3d instead 🤣.

DH rang so we had a quick chat with him.

I've started knitting again, but am taking it gently, as my poor hands don't like too much of it at once. It's Hello Kittys for starters. Then minions, Santas, firefighters, hogwarts people...

Well I for one am up for a bit of Alcwaddery  or even Tightemy if the mood takes me.  
Poor Pip.  Sounds like they just needed their Mum today - must be a bit nice though.
Mine don't want to be anywhere near me.

It is indeed lovely to spend time with pip . Always has been. I cannot imagine not having them around as they are usually joined at the hip to me! They have recently been to the gym 3 times with me and have practised their dances. Today they also did a 10 min video for beginners to weights. And their legs are jelly!!! The anxiety ebbs and flows but they recognise what it is and we just pootle on together. Being able to go to the gym with them has saved my sanity while dh has been away. And he comes home tomorrow, which will be fab!

I have received my final pay check. Plus all the emails, which I'm looking at out of interest only - no investment from apple any more. I wonder if they'll get themselves organised and remove me form the mailing list come Sept 1st...

I have a few hours of work this week - prob about 4. Then nothing until Jan. Gulp. I might have 2 Cmas fairs, which will give me a purpose, but is not exactly going to make my fortune. So, tightwaddery and alchemy are the order of the day.

But as Amy Dacyczyn says, tightwaddery without creativity is just deprivation. As little optional spending as possible but with much sprinkled alchemy to make life fun.

Just thought of one thing I need to buy - another pair of running shoes. From V1nted. They'll get well used!
