Just 9 left to do on the /49 marking. They are going to wait until tomorrow or even Thursday now as I'm out with pip soon, and while pip is having fun, I'm meeting a friend for a little run and possibly a little drinkie afterwards to help us recover
. (And I went to the gym this morning...) We've both entered the Lunnon 10k in Sept and will fundraise for the CASPA charity, where both of us have kids using the charity. It cost a flippin' £49 to enter - yikes!
I found the bottom of the laundry basket today - hooray! Though it won't last, as we all know. It was drying outside, and I had Wimbledon on in the background. When I noticed the rain covers being pulled over, I thought I'd best check outside, and sure enough, it was starting to rain! I recently read an interesting article about the ball boys and girls in years gone by being selected from Barnardo's homes.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3 -
I read that Barnardo's article too, the effort and training they put in was amazing. Enjoy your little drinkie with your friend2023: the year I get to buy a car3

We enjoyed our little trot + chat, and also a coke + sparkling water + chat afterwardsYesterday I finished the final extra marking, plus the associated paperwork. It's a big relief. Now all I have to do is post off the papers. (and do those hard questions for the other component...)I trotted to and from the gym this morning, plus did my kettlebell workout at an increased weight. Go me! My body is now telling me very clearly that it knows that I worked out and also covered 9000 steps before 9am!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

I've done over half of one Q and about 1/3 of the other, so am feeling better about them now. I have one week until the final deadline, so should be able to finish early 😎.Picked up a free baby mat today for grandchild #4. Happy.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1

Wonderful @apple_muncher! Has your new freedom really sunk in yet? Love Humdinger xx1

I don't yet feel free, humdinger (cos I'm paid until the end of August) - I am half expecting 'them' to drop something in my lap that needs doing... The dep head sent out an email on the last day of term giving us the new proforma for our schemes of work, and another one for our lesson plans. But they're not editable ones (I was told this by a colleague - I've not looked myself). Sigh. And they all need returning by 2 weeks into term. So, do I do the SoW one? Do I forward the email to the new teacher? Or do I do nothing and wait for my line manager (who is no longer the dep head, surprise surprise, she shifted all that onto other people) to send it to the new teacher?I also need to write to the chair of Trustees, to say a few things, whether or not I actually send it. This will get things out of my head, I hope. But I wouldn't normally do much in the hols anyway - other people in other jobs don't, do they?!Roll on Sept 1st when I'll really be free!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

Write to the Chair of Trustees by all means, since you're doing it for yourself and not for them. But absolutely nothing with the SoW email - unless its to say that since your employment finishes on August 31st, you won't be doing a plan for the upcoming term. No forwarding, no nothing, and *only* the things that an on-holiday teacher needs to do to clear up the *previous* year's work. Note the word *previous*. Really important!2023: the year I get to buy a car1

Thank you Karma! Sound advice.Today is going well so far - I snagged a fab f+v box at liddle. Melon, pointy cabbage, carrots, potatoes, nectarines, peaches, satsumas, celery, cauliflower.I've made a big a$$ salad: lettuce, rocket, courgette, tomato, asparagus (from a previous box), red pepper, red onion, balsamic, evoo.Cooked up some carrots + whizzed with coriander (previous box) to make a hummous-consistency carrot + coriander 'soup' mix.Cauli + cabbage are in the slow cooker with korma powder to try to make some soup.Blueberry, old oranges, reduced pineapple, banana, a 500g tub of reduced greek-style yog = a big fruit salad.I love f+v!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

I remember a while ago commenting on - or at least noticing- the price increase in ch shops- eg a top had gone up from £3.50 to £5. Well, this afternoon, pip and I went up the road and the more expensive ch shop was charging £8 for a top. Eek. So we went into the cheap one (our fave!) and they were having a sale where clothes were all £1. We got 7 items, 5 for me and 2 for pip. Happy times. As regards my marking, I've only 1 question left (a hard one), but I'm over 50% of the way through it and hope to finish it tomorrow and have a few days off. The cap lifts on Sat, so I'm mentally prepping for an intense few sessions to earn more pennies!!!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2
