I have had so much support from my exam board colleagues - the contrast is quite startling!

And I've done 30/50 of the extra scripts I took on. Somehow they are less onerous to do when I have opted in for the extra ones!

Only 1 more 'working' day. Roll on 3.45 pm on Friday...

Me and pip are off to recce a 6th form college this evening. Exciting!

How many hours are you still contracted for?
  I would respond by asking for clarification of your overtime rate as you are an exam marker and would like at least what you are paid by people who value your experience.  Oh, and which date  your managerial role pay increase request should be backdated to.
It would be cruel not to let the permanent staff do things for themselves, how else will they cope without you? 
However you might consider being available for consultancy services.

Oh 'eck.

The member of staff responsible for timetabling and reports (ie the one who has caused and continues to cause the majority of my anxiety) is now associate assistant dep head. Not fully sure what that means but it sounds like a promotion...

Am trying to contact my union abut something but it's along queue!

I gave up with union - too long a wait. Couldn't be bothered.

I sent an email. I asked for cover this morning and I needed every minute of it to mark papers and write reports - the ones that I was told on Tues didn't need doing. Sigh. But it is all done now.

I am just so glad today is finished and I have no more teaching days left An hour or 2 on Monday morning (extra pay) to hand over to the new teacher, and London dungeons with y10 on Tues - let's see how many we can leave behind...

I know! I'm starting to be excited!!!

I forgot to mention this evening's prizegiving, but it went well and I got to chat with some lovely parents as well as escaping the moment it ended .

With job 2, I lead a team of 7. So far, 3 have withdrawn before even starting their standardisation... I think I should get a prize for losing the most so soon...

4. Do something by mid-month, that will show benefits over the next 6 months. 

5. Do something by month-end that will show benefits over the next year. 

6. Set the foundation for doing something this year that will show benefits over the lifespan of your longest debt / savings goal. 

“Benefit” could be many things… peace of mind, developing your physical, mental or financial health, providing for yourself or others, developing resilience, saving effort or expense, planning ahead for an event or activity, eating frogs, or many more.

My old marking is now finished - just need to send one email and one parcel of paperwork.

And I'm on to my new marking, and have a plan on how to get it done. It is eminently manageable.

I had an unexpected gym session today as pip went bouldering (v gingerly, as their ankle is still painful), so had fun!

I think I might be feeling very much like I'm on holiday already... I meet with the new teacher tomorrow morning (extra pay), then go to liddle to use the 10% off coupon, then on to the gym.

On Tuesday I'm off to the London dungeons with y10, all within school hours. And pip is off to Bletchley Park.

And on Weds, pip has their non-sports sports day (ankle = can't take part, but they can move around and chat with people) and I go to work for the final few hours and staff lunch.

Thurs is pip's annual hosp appointment.

And then pip finishes on Fri - they have no lessons this week, it is a collapsed ttable all week.

Well, I went to London but didn't do the dungeons cos one girl couldn't face going in so I had to stay with her. But I got free gf doughballs and pizza for lunch, we caught an earlier train back, and I generally had a good day. The head was on the trip and he still hasn't talked to me about mum. In fact, he didn't initiate any conversation with me today. Ya, boo and hiss to him.

And pip's trip is a never ending one because the M25 is chocca. They're now due back at 6... This evening's youth group starts at 6!!

I have sourced some free garden toys for the grandkids next month 😎

Just tomorrow to go. It's lovely to mingle with the pupils, so I'm quite looking forward to it.
