I ended yesterday feeling massively overwhelmed. Partly because I'd not done much of 'use' (ie marking or funeral preps) over the weekend. Then pip had a meltdown at 11.30pm. But they still insisted on getting up and going to school today.
I've plodded through the jobs and made a suitable powerpoint presentation for the thanksgiving service for mum. 50+ slides!
I've also plodded on with marking this morning, while dh was doing extra work out of the house. I marked 2 then cleared away my needle felting gubbins; marked 2 more then tidied the chair of doom in my bedroom; Marked 2 more then did the presentation. Then it was time for lunch and a couple more. And now I only have 3 more to do. Phew. Finishing them plus a bundle of forms today would be great and would leave me with tmorrow to think about the funeral prep.
I've also done a sainz shop fro pip's foods, and 2 laundry loads. The forecast rain hasn't arrived so they are drying outside.
Still to do: see if the chemist have messed up my prescription again; organise what food to order from C00K; keep trying for flowers...

You could always source and gift a living hibiscus after the funeral as a remembrance gift for those who know the significance.  It does not mean you love her less if you can't find the precise flower on that one day.
Please don't stress on the hibiscus 🌺 🌺🌺.   It is a celebration of your Mum.   You are not supposed to make yourself ill or overwhelmed.  You are putting too much pressure on yourself.
PS most people could not pick a hibiscus out of a line up.  Unless you really are the secret love child* of Percy Thrower, Alan Titchmarsh, or Monty Don, cut yourself some slack.

*No offense intended to your Mum or her taste in men.

Sweetie, please, please, prioritise.  Your health, the immediate commemmoration of your mum, the health of your offspring.  That's it.  The chemist is important, because that's for you.  The food, yes - we used M&S for both my mum and my dad - C00K are wonderful, its true though.  Get what you can, and then let it go.  Flowers, do you know who you're going to use?  Does your sister have an opinion?  Can the facility where your mum was help with a recommendation?

The schools and centres don't matter compared with this, they just don't.

    Thank you everyone <3
I got a fair amount done yesterday, including finishing the marking. It has been a good focus to have and although I may have sounded stressed by it, I still needed it with its deadline. There were  fair number of tech issues, which I simply worked around, and were so bad that the deadline got extended by a lot. But I was never ever ever going to need it o:)
Today I took pip to school then got the bus to the train station to buy all the tickets. [Me + pip using a railcard to travel on weds afternoon. Dh not using his railcard to travel on Weds evening due to work. Thurs late afternoon, dh and pip return using my travel ticket, with dh giving me the full price return part. Fri afternoon (solicitor in the morning, ashes being scattered in the afternoon) I travel on to Mancunia, returning to Bham and then on to home on Sunday late afternoon. Ooph!]
I then went straight to the gym - another hard session - and on to liddle where I shamefully had to buy a bag as I'd not brought one. But the car was still near pip's school, so back there on the tram + bus and finally home for food and a good wash.
    Now to:
-book pip a dr appt re ankle
-call C00K to order food for pick up tomorrow by a friend of big sis
    -do some blimmin' forms
Overall, today is much less stressy. Phew.

    C00k order sorted.
    Dr appt made.
Pesky forms - just 2 more to do, but big centres so may require several each. But that's ok. They might be shelved until tomorrow.

It seems that I bring the overwhelm on myself (forehead slap smilie, please).
Pip to school; smilie faces purchased; no flowers that look any good in aldee; 2 mags for journey bought; washing done and hung out (pip had a couple of items so I bulked it out); ironing done; breakfast eaten; coffee drunk; packing mostly done.
And then I rang the florist who are providing the bouquet for the coffin top and they have a similar-ish-to-hibiscus-flower that they will add to the display. Why didn't I just ring them earlier!!!
The printer ain't working, so I'll have to get dh to sort that. He's working until 1. I collect pip at 1. Pip needs feeding, changing and has to finalise their packing. Our train is 2.10.
And then the food. Which is a biggie for pip. We'll be mixing with a lot of people so they need their food to be routine.
But, just for some light entertainment, I'm going to do some forms :D

OMG, get ready for the journey!  This only happens once, and the time is tight even for the journey, let alone what's happening during the next few days.  Apple!  Please!
