Well, dd can come to school with me tomorrow, but is expected to stay in sick bay. Hmmm. She is 6. She is poorly. This is not what I was hoping for. The alternative is that I take the day off to look after her at home, so I figured I was offering a good deal for the school!
oh well. The way dd is heading - downhill rapidly! - I won't have an option for tomorrow. I'll be at home with a poorly poorly one.
Other important news: my local aldee is closed for refurbishment until thursday! Eeek. So I'll have to finally be brave and venture up to liddle.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
No school for us today! A coughing, sneezing, spluttering, drippy-nose night. Ugh.
However, dd seems perkier than the last 2 days despite still coughing and sneezing and dripping. But she has eaten a decent breakfast, so there is hope for tomorrow...
Anything to put on a list today?
- plan tomorrow for if I need to stay off again
- finish 4 bunnies - eyes, noses, bottom seams
- wash up
- declutter as per NST November challenge
- wrap a few presents with dd
- get dressed!!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Thanks greent. I wish dd would limit her poorly days to days when I'm not working so etimes.
Dd is definitely mending. Even got her to do time on mathletics. We are both dressed, have wrapped up some presents, and 2 bunnies are done so far. Lunch is being munched as I type, and the washing up can wait a little longer!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Washing up has been done. 2 more bunnies finished and 1 more just needing legs(!), another needing nose and eyes. And that means that ALL the bunnies are done.
Oh no it doesn't! Dd and I have decided to make 1 each for her teacher and TA. So her task is to find out their favourite colour...
Not had the heating on today - dd is fine and since I'm running a slight temp, I don't need it either. Cheap, we are!
5 spellings also done (10 more to go by thurs). Dd will certainly be returning to sch tomorrow.
Decluttering - well, I've THOUGHT about it...!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
So we made it to 4pm ok. Then dd complained of ear pains and was soon wailing with it! Lovely dr saw us. Pains gone by then, of course, but several bouts of coughing until retching in the waiting room... Doc said ear slightly sore and gave prescription for if we needed it. We went and got it, and on discovering that it is banana flavoured, dd seems prepared to suffer the pain rather than take it!! She loathes antibiotics and throws the banana ones straight bavk up sometimes.
The plan is still for her to go to sch, but all depends on how the night goes...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Dd made it to school - and so did I - and lasted all day. Well done her! :T because that also meant that she had a lot fewer meds in the day, and she seems none the worse for it. The recent 4pm slump hasn't happened and the coughing has been much reduced. She is wanting to go to 8am cheerleading tomorrow, so that is our aim for the night and morning. She is currently playing happily with her Po11y Pockets, chattering away with them.
Grabbed another NSD, plus £2 credit from a Sally Army bag. The next one already has some stuff in it, but I do want to fill it quickly, as per the latest NST challenge.
Tomorrow I venture up to liddle as aldee is closed for a refit. Exciting day ahead!
Dh has been 'asked' to work abroad rather a lot in Dec and Jan. Denmark, Gibraltar and Singapore! Or possibly some place in between... One of my first reactions to the news: that'll save us some pennies! Shame on me!But I do want him to be here for dd's birthday, and her party 4 days later... Will be most miffed if he misses them...

Well, dd dragged herself awake to get to cheerleading today - well done her! She was complaining through the night about her ear, but still doesn't want the 'yukky yellow goo'!
Having gained an extra hour into my day, i pottered off up to liddle for a first visit. Twas alright. Nowt to write home about! But I did get the shopping I wanted for around £31. I didn't then walk home - heavy load and lashings of rain again both necessitated catching the bus. Best buy= 2x 500g pink milk mix at a bargainous price.
I then unpacked, made a coffee, hung up the washing, and went up to the local shops. Paid money into the bank, popped to dr to get an appt and drop off dd's prescription, and went to Sains to use a £2 off £20 voucher. Very judiciously. They have a 5 for 4 offer on the g-f shelves, and although I had to go to customer services to realise the offer, I did get the discount. Smoothies were on offer, and the vitamin 'sweets' dd likes were 3 for 2. So, £22 spent and £10.50 saved. I certainly got a whole lot more for my pennies in liddle!
And now, I've done a mini workout, showered and eaten lunch. Time to tackle email-tidying-up task. My least favourite ever. Don't know why! Will set a timer to ensure I focus fully.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Wow, that's quite the morning, makes me tired just reading it.
Yucky yellow goo??!! if it's the same stuff I used to have as a child, I used to love it. Medicine seems to get a whole lot more boring as you get older.Sep 2010: £96,685, Savings: £0

Hi philhbug - I try to be as active as possible on my days off and get my step count up.
The yellow goo is antibiotics. Dd can't keep it down so the 'threat' of having to take it is often enough for her to cope with any pain. It has to be really bad for her to accept it, and then we only do a reduced dosage - followed by a drink and sweet after! I'd rather she didn't have them at all, as her immune system's weak anyway and I don't like al the 'good bugs' being wiped out!
I've done the email duty - yay! Now to tackle to washing up...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
