If you've got a university or a higher education college within decent travelling distance of you apple then keep an eye on their website for invigilation jobs.
University exams take place in January as well as in May and June, and resits normally need to be done around late August or early September before the new university year starts at the beginning of October. That can at least extend some of the invigilation job period you'll have."You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.

apple_muncher said:So 2023 needs to start with keeping a close eye on and recording my spends. All of 'em. And not procrastinating about recording them. Maybe set a time twice a week to do it...?As long as you do it all by card it is easy to do once a week. You could switch an account to the Nati0nwide for the £200 bribe, and put your budget in there and just use that account for all non d.d bill spends. Then it is easy to look and see what and where you are spending. I took pip to meet their friend and they had fun. Though pip was terrified on the Ferris wheel! I had a look around some charity shops and found a dress for pip, a leather medium sized rucksack, some small ski gloves for pip, fairy lights, the horse from Toy Story and some wool. It all came to just under £30, but was worth it.VH I'll keep an eye out for what you suggest. One of the major benefits of being at pip's place is that it's a 20 min walk. So no travel costs. Especially for the start of next academic year as I might have to pay tax, having had 5 months of my 2 day a week pay and my exam pay. I'm hoping that as the school also use invigilators for their internal exams from y9 upwards, I may have plenty there.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Fox is pooped. We helped with the 'nativity' at church this morning and were both exhausted from the interaction. Pip moreso, obviously. And so much so, that they opted out of going bouldering. And said that they'd be unable to eat any lunch, so I just gave them a small snackette. Hopefully a couple of long sleeps will help...I've knitted the bare bones (?!) of two Pikachu and their tails. They need sewing up, sewing together, embroidering and stuffing. But I'm please with what I've been able to create.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

Today feels like the real first day of the hols. I got up around 7 and let DH and pip sleep in until gone 10, while I went to liddle, the gym, £land and icyland. The snow is all gone and it feels like an anticlimax!Pip has a horrid hurting cough and throat. Not COVID though, as we have some tests still. Poor mite.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

Still got a very poorly pip. Up and down temperature, nasty nasty cough. Hardly eating. Poor thing.I've had an idea for making needefelted snowmen to hang on the tree. To sell, of course. Just need to work the hanging wire thingy into the head from the start!Pikachu was quite interesting to make, but, as with all prototypes, took a stoopid amount of my time. And they still still need cheeks and a mouth.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1

For £5, I got some thick bright pink wool that is perfect for needle felting, a molli makes magazine, some plastic cotton reels (I have a plan...) and a near perfect pair of saloman walking shoes. I adore that charity shop! Sometimes they have prices, but generally I just take things to the counter and he gives me a total 😎.Pip still very unwell. Dh starting to join in. Uh oh. I foresee one fun filled Christmas coming up...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1

When I invigilated I ended up doing it most of the academic year - summer exams were the busiest, yes, but there was also the November aerial, internal exams for years 10 through 13 (1 set of approx 2 weeks per each year group), the various maths challenges run by ukmt, CATS testing, admissions testing (mainly in Sept for following year but also in year entry throughout the year), University entrance admissions tests... we ran lots throughout the year 🙂I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £203

Sorry to hear Pip and DH are succumbing to the lurgy! My husband had "something" a few weeks ago (really bad sore throat and night sweats, but no cough or other snot issues), and one of my sisters, my Dad and my brother came down with possibly something similar over the weekend. Hopefully your two bounce back very quickly so they're able to enjoy the 25th!
