Phew. All marking done - I had to remark everything that the other teacher had done as she was far too generous... And all reports written and submitted. Ooph.
A big relief. I went to the gym first though (after counselling this morning) so as to have a clear head and a time limit on getting them all marked and written. It worked!
Now to go and collect pip.

Well done you!  Does anybody *know* that you spent time re-marking another teacher's work?  A friend is asking 😁

Only my friend at work, karma. I can't be bothered to let higher up know, as they'll only ask me why I didn't train the other teacher...
We had Learning Walks done the other week. The head saw a few mins of my 4 y10s. The only good thing he had to say was that he liked the seating arrangement. But given that there's so few of them, their books (of which he only looked at 2) really should be better marked. Bollox. It's a real punch to the gut and has upset/floored me more than it should.
Anyhow, I know I'm leaving at the end of August. And they don't. So ya boo sucks to them!
I had a good chat with my counsellor about next year, and it does feel like it is a time of possibilities. Yes, the focus is pip, but there's a whole life to live beyond that!

There are always possibilities, some are easier to see than others.

Why you did not train the other teacher that works more hours than you, had the pick of what hours/days she works,  and does not work for the exam board?
Well it shows your skills are not valued as they should be by the management. You are doing the right thing, and I expect your resignation letter will cite the lack of support shown by the SLT and their careless attitude to staff morale..

Well, waddyaknow! The duvet cover I pinned to the ceiling and slopey bit of the staircase so that it covers the side of the stairs, and the ever so thin sheet I pinned to the ceiling so that it drapes down to the 2nd stair and just about meets up with the duvet cover, well they are really making a difference to the warmth of the house. No longer is the warm air escaping upwards and heating the landing ceiling. Result 🎉.
No money spent by me today, but a teacher from pip's school emailed to buy more of my knitted items. £10 made. 🎉
Got told (along with other subjects) that my predicted grades cannot be lower than their CEM baseline predictions. The ones that somehow predict their final grades based on, maybe, three paper/online tests...Yep, even if the kid is 4 grades lower, I'm not allowed to lower the 'teacher' prediction. Bollox. So I've changed them. I'll conform. Sigh. Not worth fighting, since I've been 'told'. 🤪
Tomorrow is cmas jumper day. Gonna wear my elf jumper with the huge bell on the hood, so everyone will hear me coming! And my red DMs. Cos I want to. 😎
