That is disgusting treatment :( Is there any way you can get agency work or are there jobs at other convenient schools or colleges that will be available for you later, so that you could at least hand in your notice immediately?  Certainly no extra duties or assistance to anyone there from now on, even if the new person is lovely you need to be hard and say you are not helping. Unbelievable treatment :(

Thank you! I'll certainly be looking around, SusieT! But for now, sticking with what I know - in a system I know, with kids I know- is what I'll do.
And who on earth thinks that I'm going to deliver meaningful lessons to reception, y3+4 combined, y5, and y2 (I think) when I'm a trained secondary teacher... Y5 I've done before. And I know we have resources for y3+4. But the really little ones? I don't see them asking the primary teachers to teach the teenagers in return... Oh, and of course I've y7,8,9,11 and 13 in the mix too. All shared classes.
But now that I know what bollux is ahead, I can start to think and plan accordingly.
And we need to find and extra £800 pcm as it was decided that pip's bursary should be reduced from 95% to 50%. Another set of bollux. So, I'll prob try to stay put for the year, if I can cope, so that that is covered.
Dh and I have already had a quick chat re finances, which will need to be reduced as from 01/09... Especially with rising living costs and the possibility of having to buy a new car that is ulez compliant if/when the zone is expanded.
Anyhow, nearly time for bed. Tomorrow I want to go to liddle. I've missed it!

@apple_muncher without me overdoing the drama, I've always had a sense that there is jealousy of your ability and grip at your school.  The head (The Trunchbull!) has issues...it's obvious even at a remove.  Keep going, you are fab and you are REALLY not the problem here.  Love Humdinger xx

    Quite right   ..Guv.uk says

    Your employer must not:

    • treat you unfairly for taking time off, for example refusing you training or promotion
    • dismiss you or choose you for redundancy because you asked for time off for a dependant
    • refuse you reasonable time off

If you think you've been unfairly treated for taking time off for dependants, get advice from your staff or trade union representative or Acas.

Aww, you guys are all so lovely to me. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️.
I had a lovely trip to liddle, and scored a fair f+v box. It had some items we'll not use, so I took them to a neighbour and ended up being there for about an hour, nattering away!
Dh helped me write a response email to the dep head's further email explaining why they had had trouble finding a replacement teacher (not a problem caused by me, so why try to use it as an excuse???? ).
Now to be thinking about this coming term...
And tomorrow's highlights will include dropping off supermarket-only-place-to-recycle plastic bags, hunting for a pizza cutter and going in my fave ch shop while pip waits nearby on a bench. Rockin' the Notting Hill Carnival weekend, here!

It's not actually to cut pizza! Pip wants one for some bizarre reason that would sound weird on here but that is totally reasonable in my book!
Currently looking at Reception teaching. I reckon I could try to link in with Forest school, so nature vocab and flashcards and games with that. Animals. Colours. 1-10. Greetings. Name. Weather.
It's the divvying up of all the other classes that'll be interesting...

We got the pizza cutter! Plus a bath bomb for my niece and weedkiller- they're the first things to regrow, aren't they!
The supermarket had the bags/packaging to recycle.
The library had some books we wanted.
I found some wool for Draco's hair! I've already re-done the original one, and one other. So I still have wool for 2 more dracos and their hair. I also spent £1 on a knitting bumper magazine as it had some hat patterns. That saved spending £3 on a book of hat patterns where I was only interested in a couple of them.
Then, late afternoon, pip suggested going to a local town to get some stuff: gum shield, gloves to wear during PE lessons (pip has shocking circulation); hair dye for the return to school, more of the pink dye that we might use this last week of the hols. And a bubble tea each- my first experience of it. It's definitely a treat, as it ain't cheap!
Dh ordered some school PE uniform stuff, and we hope that'll be the last purchases for the next two years...
Between us, we spent about £130 today. Ouch!

Fascinating!  Though ouch to £130 ... but you know what you've bought, the underlying plan is right there - good luck with it all.
