Hope all the journeys and the school work went well.  It sounds like it's been a long week.

Today I have done just under 17000 steps plus a gym visit. Smug face is on! 😎
The grass didn't get mown, maths challenge was neglected in favour of German oral prep, Elise remained unread. I also didn't take any bags to the Ch shop as I wanted to walk round the park!
But I did everything else as well as taking dh to nose at a neighbour's kitchen and garden for ideas.

I'll have a look, f0xh0les. Though I don't usually listen to stuff when out and about. Never have, even when I used to run a lot. Prefer to hear my own breath and be aware of what's around me. I'm also not a fan of having earphones/headphones in at all!!

This morning I am very tired but also rather proud of myself. Next door had a party yesterday. It started mid-afternoon and was really quiet for the number of people there. (8+). Then around 6, the music started and at 7 I took dd out for a walk as she was not coping at all. We saw the neighbours 3 doors down (terraces) and they said their walls were shaking with the noise, so ours must be so much worse. Indeed! It did die down by the time we were back home but was still thudding away and loud voices. The back door was wide open and I could see a speaker raised up on a stand. We tried going to bed, but it was just too much. So at 10.30, I went round and as soon as they saw me, turned it all right down and were quiet. Phew.
Up to that point, both me and dh had said that we were too scared to go round. There were 6+ people that I counted by looking over the back fence, but some were different from the daytime ones. We asked ourselves why the neighbours the other side hadn't said anything, and decided that they were also too scared.
I came home shaking! But very pleased with myself. And actually, grateful to my neighbour for immediately turning it all down.
But then, at 3.15, I was woken by loud voices outside. It was hard to distinguish what it was about, but it was certainly an argument of some sort, by the road - so about 25m away. Ugh. Was all finished by 3.25 key. No idea if it was connected with next door.
I do feel like going out and mowing the lawn at 9 but probably won't for two reasons. Firstly, next door sleep through anything so it wouldn't disturb them. Secondly, you can bet your bottom dollar that there'd be complaints about me making a noise!!!!

Nuff said. Gotta go wake the others as were out this morning.

Today has been like wading through treacle. Youth did not go well for dd this morning, who was super tired anyway as she hadn't got to sleep until about midnight. And that just set the tone for the rest of the day. Sigh. Next week, she'll either help me with kids klub, or possibly stay home and not even attend on zoom...
And she had hwk to do. German, maths, biology. Tomorrow is the junior maths challenge. And she hates it with a passion. She's also joined a Monday morning club that starts at 7.30am, so will need waking at about 6.10!! I think I'll get up at 5.45 so I can have a bit of time alone and start my own day right, before waking her...
It's all quite moany at the mo. Big apologies. And big thanks to those who wade through my bletherings.

That's great that you did that, and great that they turned it down right away.  I can totally understand the terror at making that stand - I have such a saga going on with my current party wall neighbours, I have for years - I did go round once, there was building work going on at 3am.  They were quite testy with me  :o but at least there was a good reason for the noise, they had a gas leak!  Mainly, though, they have a tv mounted on the party wall in the bedroom, and they have it on overnight, maybe 50% of the night.  I pretend I'm a medieval peasant sleeping in the Great Hall of a local lord, as nothing will change it, and moving would be a bit mad.

Good idea *not* to mow the grass at 9 - if you get into that sort of tit for tat, it can become very bitter, very horrible.

You know, once you are woken by shouty drunk nutters, you don't sleep properly again, it is like your brain is half listening for it to kick off again.  We had similar at around 2am - it has got worse in the last week since the pubs re-opened.  Practically every night there is someone shouting.
Totally this - once you're on high alert after being disturbed, it takes ages to come down off it and go to sleep.  Sympathies to both.
